Funny Subway Video | Bird Takes A Trip

Posted: 18 Apr 2010 11:10 AM PDT

There’s finally a reason for me to visit New York. Because I have never, ever seen a London pigeon using the Tube to get around the British capital. They’re obviously braver in the United States.

This pigeon is seen standing in the middle of a subway carriage, patiently waiting for his stop. He starts moving as soon as the stop is announced, and then moves toward the door as the train slows. He then casually hops out and walks off.

There’s something inherently funny about this video. It immediately tickles your funny bone to see something highly unlikely and wholly unexpected taking place before your very eyes.

If I’d have actually been on that subway train I think I’d have had to follow the bird to see where he went and what he did next. He probably reverted to flying or hopping about a bit, but you never know, maybe he was indeed on his way to work or late for a meeting.

Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller Strikeforce Brawl Video | Jake Shields’ Has Scuffle After Fight

Posted: 18 Apr 2010 06:05 AM PDT

Every time there’s a big MMA fight at the weekend, the names of the fighters appear on my radar. But Strikeforce Nashville proved slightly more interesting than the rest.

After the organized fight between Jake Shields and Dan Henderson ended, with Shields beating Henderson, the real action kicked off. Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller asked for a rematch, and the next thing you know, all hell broke loose.

This after-fight brawl actually resembles something you’d see in a playground, with much pushing and shoving, and more and more people getting involved.

There’s even been some suggestion that the whole thing was staged as the actual scheduled fight was boring. Is MMA going to the way of WWE, and becoming nothing more than a staged cocktail of cheap tricks? I hope not.

Amazing Stop Motion Animation Video | Bad Apple Japanese Inspired Cartoon

I’m always mesmerized by stop motion animation, and this is one of the best examples I’ve seen.

“Bad Apple” was made using more than 6000 pieces of paper, shot in rapid-fire sequence for almost four minutes. I hate to imagine how much work it must have taken to painstakingly assemble the images, but the result is definitely worth it.

I almost didn’t mind enduring almost four minutes of mind-numbingly awful anime-style Japanese music. Almost.

It’s worth taking a little time and watching right to the end of this animated short, but you may want to turn off your speakers before you do!

Dog Using Apple iPad Video | Canines Clearly Aren’t Big Fans Of Steve Jobs & His Products

Posted: 17 Apr 2010 02:32 PM PDT

Yesterday we found out that cats can not only use an iPad quite comfortably, but that they’re fans of the Apple tablet and some of the apps which you can get for it.

But how about our canine friends? Will they love it as much as the feline population? No, it seems not. At least if this particular dog is anything to go by.

The cat enjoyed playing with the iPad, showing no signs of aggression. But this dog sees things a little differently, at first being unsure of the Apple device, and then properly going for it, barking, yapping, and even biting the iPad at one point.

Maybe this says something about Steve Jobs and the way he designs products. The smooth and sleek look and feel of Apple gadgets clearly appeals more to the soft, feminine creatures such as cats. But not the harsh, masculine animals such as dogs.

Or maybe I’m over-analyzing it, and dogs are just fussy and territorial.
