Watch Funny ‘If Classic VideoGames Had Super Easy Mode’ Video | Sonic, Wii Fit & More Posted: 09 Jul 2010 08:31 AM PDT What if, instead of slaving for hours (and days) to beat our favourite video games, all the games came with a ’super easy’ mode? Wow. I could so have the Wii Fit super easy mode covered. I can do that (not saying so it doesn’t spoil the video) with the best of them. I can’t quite pick which is my favourite ’super easy mode’ one. If games were like this, we could buy them for less than a dollar and spend all of one minute on them… Hm. Okay. I get it. But still, it did make for a really funny video, don’t you think? |
Beach Blanket Bingo Movie Trailer Video | Starring Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello Posted: 09 Jul 2010 05:48 AM PDT This video features the trailer for Beach Blanket Bingo, a 1965 movie starring Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. It’s kicking off a beach-themed movie marathon tonight on Turner Classic Movies.
Beach Blanket Bingo has a bizarre plot that really doesn’t bear explaining. Suffice to say, if you like your movies cheap and cheesy, and punctuated by regular bursts of singing and dancing, you’ll enjoy it. Is it me or does this feel like it’s from another world as well as another time? Everything on display, from the style of the trailer to the look and feel of the movie itself just feel so alien. I know Beach Blanket Bingo was released 45 years ago, but even that length of time doesn’t explain how much things have changed. Sadly, part of me wishes we were back in the 1950s or 60s, because life seemed much simpler. |
Watch Scientist Creates Male Birth Control Pill Video | Will Men Take It? Posted: 08 Jul 2010 06:17 PM PDT A scientist in Israel has created a male birth control pill that has been working on the male mice testing he has done so far – but is all his work for nothing? The birth control pill (which I have to take for reasons other than preventing conception) is a pain in the ass on the best of days. It’s a bother, it’s a hormone and I hate taking pills even for headaches. So when I hear that a scientist is creating a male birth control pill, I chuckle a little because I cannot think of one guy I know who would be willing to take it. |
Time-Lapse Braces Video | Straight Teeth in Less Than a Minute Posted: 08 Jul 2010 04:26 PM PDT
But the proof’s in the conclusion, when her previously gnarly teeth are transformed into the perfect smile. And just in time for her prom photos too! |
The Vuvuzela – Will It Blend? Video | Plastic World Cup Horn Finally Gets Comeuppance Posted: 08 Jul 2010 02:55 PM PDT If you’ve watched even five minutes of the 2010 World Cup from South Africa then you’ll have heard the noise of the vuvuzela. And if you’re as sick of it as I am after almost a month of matches, you’ll love seeing a vuvuzela destroyed in a blender. Will It Blend? You betcha.
Tom Dickson has already blended hundreds of different objects in a quest to promote the Blendtec brand of blenders. It’s a promotion that has worked really well, with everyone on the Web at least knowing the name, even if they haven’t gone out and bought one. But I think blending the vuvuzela is Dickson’s greatest achievement. I just wish blending one would have destroyed every single vuvuzela in the world, but alas, that isn’t the case. |
