USA Vs. England 2010 World Cup Video | Preview Of The Opening Group C Match Posted: 12 Jun 2010 09:18 AM PDT The 2010 World Cup kicked off yesterday, and there has already been some big games. But the biggest so far is kicking off in a few short hours, with the U.S.A. taking on England. As an Englishman, I’m obviously biased. But I’ll try and be fair in previewing the game. With that in mind, I’ve embedded a video which has an American bias.
There’s a bit of a history between these two nations. Outside of football (or soccer as the Yanks call it) they’re best of friends. But once the two teams take to the pitch friendship goes out of the window. The U.S.A. famously beat England in the World Cup in 1950, completely against all the odds and the run of play. Can they repeat that success 60 years on? Possibly, but to do so they’ll have to handle Wayne Rooney. Which is a tough ask for any team. |
Controversial Lady Gaga “Alejandro” Music Video | Pop Star Shocks Again, Or Does She? Posted: 11 Jun 2010 05:39 PM PDT Lady Gaga is back and outraging the masses with her brand new film clip for “Alejandro.” Personally, I might have been more surprised if Madonna hadn’t done all this decades earlier. The kids might not remember the groundbreaking clips for “Erotica,” “Vogue,” and “Like a Prayer,” but those of us who do won’t be impressed by this imitation. |
BP Oil Spill Video | What If Beyond Petroleum Had Spilled Coffee On The Boardroom Table? Posted: 11 Jun 2010 02:40 PM PDT To describe the oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico as a disaster really doesn’t do it justice. It’s a disaster for the area, for the environment, for wildlife, and for the company responsible for the leaking pipeline. That company is BP (Beyond Petroleum), which is considered to have dealt with the crisis particularly badly.
With that in mind, how would the company cope if it wasn’t an oil spill but a coffee spill on the table in their boardroom? This video parodies the oil spill in this way. So we get to see the attempts made to clean up the coffee spill, all of which mimic the kind of ideas BP has used to try and get the oil spill under control. All of which have so far failed. This video is very funny, but I doubt whether the board or shareholders at BP would think so. |
