Alexander Girard Christmas cards at Lagom Posted: 29 Nov 2010 05:07 AM PST The cards add to their existing range of greeting cards based on Girard's colourful designs. Girard apparently amassed nativities for the International Museum of Folk Art in Santa Fe (in term inspiring the recently issued nativity set) so it's no surprise these influenced his work. Shown above is a card based on a 1962 Nativity Angel. You can also pick from a card featuring a Nativity dating from 1968 or Flying Angels from 1971. Individual cards cost £1.80 each, or you can get a set of the angels in three different colours for £3.40. See them online |

Buttons Chair by Steuart Padwick Posted: 29 Nov 2010 04:59 AM PST As you'd expect from his work, he's given a twenty-first century twist to a twentieth-century design. The chair is made from a solid wood frame, and has a sprung seat and feather cushion for your sitting comfort. The finishing touches are the oak feet, the wood tops to the arms and the oak 'buttons' that go all the way through the back and arms of the chair. Decided to consider investing? Well, the chair costs £995 for upholstery in your own fabric, or £1395 for the linen and leather finish pictured. See it online |
