Ronnie O’Sullivan 147 Break Video | Smug Snooker Star Almost Doesn’t Pot The Black Posted: 22 Sep 2010 11:32 AM PDT Ronnie O’Sullivan once again cleared the table with a 147 break recently, something he’s already done nine times in competitive matches before this. The difference with this one, which occurred during the third round of the World Open in Glasgow against Mark King, is that O’Sullivan almost didn’t pot the black, having to be persuaded to do so by King and referee Jan Verhaas.
After O’Sullivan had potted the first red and black combination, he asked Verhaas what the prize was for hitting a 147 break. When told there wasn’t one, O’Sullivan continued but decided not to pot the final black until urged to for the benefit of the fans. O’Sullivan basically comes across as smug and greedy with this display. Smug because he was so confident he’d make the 147, and greedy because he felt it wasn’t worth his while finishing it off because there was no extra money on offer. |
Glee Season 2 Preview Video | New Directions Face Competition, New Villain Posted: 22 Sep 2010 06:29 AM PDT Those of you living in the U.S. have been lucky enough to already had the pleasure of watching the Season 2 premiere of Glee. And judging by this short preview video you won’t have been disappointed.
I loved the first season of Glee. It took me by surprise both how good it is and how much I enjoyed it. After all, I don’t think I, as a 33-year-old heterosexual male, am exactly the target audience. Glee Season 2 promises more of the same: more brilliant cover versions of brilliant songs, more fighting between Will Schuester and Sue (with the new football coach being some kind of ubervillain), more ridicule and rejection for the Glee Club of McKinley High. Unfortunately, being in the U.K. means I’ll have to wait until January to get my fix of Glee, as that is when Season 2 is scheduled to appear on British television. Sometimes it sucks to not be American. |
Watch Free Climbing Transmission Tower 1768 Feet High Video | World’s Scariest Job Posted: 22 Sep 2010 04:19 AM PDT And you thought your job was scary… I don’t really have a problem with heights, but this made even me a bit nervous. Especially when he let go with both hands! Ack! I had to chuckle over the description: “I hope he at least makes minimum wage.” I am curious to know what kind of money these guys make. Not only do you have to have the technical knowledge, you have to be incredibly fit and okay with heights. I bet they don’t get a heap of applicants during interview times. I wonder if any of them freelance as photographers. |
Oprah Winfrey Sings About Australia Trip Video | Talk Show Queen Gets Meme Treatment Posted: 22 Sep 2010 12:19 AM PDT We heard Oprah Winfrey tell her audience that they’d be joining her on a trip to Australia. Now we can hear her sing about it. This is such a simple idea, but like all the best viral videos it’s that simplicity that’s the key to its success. Now let’s all join in for the chorus! |
Watch The Girl Who Played With Fire Official Trailer Video Posted: 21 Sep 2010 09:51 PM PDT The next installment of the Millennium trilogy movies is on its way. Lisbeth Salander is accused of murder and is sent on the run. Can Mikael Blomkvist clear her name? Or is she actually guilty? The millennium books are three of the few books I have read that are incredibly popular. I usually try to stay away from them, but when a friend recommends the book. I am quite looking forward to watching these movies, having read the books – especially the last two movies. As a friend and I were discussing just a couple days ago – Lisbeth Salander is a character that we are unlikely to forget soon. |
Watch Oprah Performer Charice Joins Glee Cast Celebrity News Video Posted: 21 Sep 2010 09:50 PM PDT Charice Pempengco of Oprah fame is joining the cast of Glee for the second season as a foreign exchange student named Sunshine Corazon. If you’re not familiar, Charice is a Filipina singer and actress who became popular on the internet and was then dubbed as the Most Talented Girl in the World by Oprah. It’s only up when Oprah likes you. All you have to do is YouTube her name and you will find plenty of her impressive performances. I think she will prove to be a great addition to the Glee team as well as vocal competition for lead signer Rachel. |
Your Childhood In 94 Seconds (Video) | Nostalgic Montage For 90’s Kids Posted: 21 Sep 2010 09:11 PM PDT If you were a 90’s kid then get ready to have your mind blown! Somehow the creators of this video managed to cram our entire childhood into 94 seconds. The strangest part about this video is that no matter who I’ve shared it with, all of my friends seem to recognize almost every second. With media constantly changing and getting more specialized, I can’t really see this happening for the generation of kids in the 2010’s. What’s “popular” today really depends on the group of people you ask. |
Glee 8-Bit Computer Game Video | What If Top-Rated Show Was A Game From The 80s? Posted: 21 Sep 2010 06:35 PM PDT Glee is a truly fantastic television show. I’m not exactly the target audience and yet I love it to bits. However, would I love it so much if Glee were a video game from the 8-Bit era of the 1980s? This video, which is interactive and offers a choice at the end, tests that theory.
The people behind these videos have got everything spot-on. From the animation at the beginning to the stylized versions of all the main characters. And best of all is the way the story of the first season is simplified down to its core components. The only problem is the gameplay; if the Glee game had existed then it likely wouldn’t have won any awards. But as a spoof video made in 2010 looking back on what could have been, it should win loads. |
Bristol Palin DWTS 2010 Video | Sarah Palin’s Daughter Cha Cha On Dancing With The Stars Posted: 21 Sep 2010 04:22 PM PDT Bristol Palin can dance. And extremely well for that matter. She also appears to be quite down-to-earth and actually quite likable. All of which is very surprising. However, the most surprising thing has to be that Bristol Palin is regarded as a “star” in any sense of the word. The show is called Dancing With The Stars after all.
Bristol Palin wowed the judges and the viewers with her Cha Cha on the first episode of Dancing With The Stars. Mainly because everybody thought she’d be absolutely atrocious and she wasn’t. Having said that I can’t see her winning DWTS. A sizable portion of America will vote for her because they love Sarah Palin, but the majority will reject her like they rejected her mother as Vice President. |
