Saltwater Crocodile Video | Would You Want To Swim With Such A Beast From The Deep? Posted: 09 May 2010 08:05 AM PDT Saltwater crocodiles are scary creatures. They can grow up to 20 feet in length, which is longer than my living room, and weigh more than a ton. And yet these people are swimming with them, albeit with the protection of a perspex casket specially designed for the job. I wouldn’t want to do this, and don’t really understand why anyone else would. Isn’t watching these creatures on TV enough?
The reason saltwater crocodiles are in the news again is because a 25-year-old student from New Jersey was recently killed by one while snorkeling off the coast of India's Andaman Islands. As tragic as that is, it’s made even more tragic by the fact that Lauren Failla sister was killed in a rock climbing accident four years ago. So there’s definitely something to be said for being a little conservative in your hobbies. |
Funny How Women & Men Are Different At Birth (Video) | Babies Can Reveal So Much Posted: 08 May 2010 09:16 PM PDT Perhaps one of the most common comedic subjects is the difference between women and men. Oddly enough, as this clip shows, that “the difference” can be seen even as early as infancy. On a side note, I had no idea that infants had sex drives! If I ever have a son that can’t stay still, I’ll probably just end up getting him one of those dolls. |
Dog Beatboxing Video | Scary No, Funny Yes Posted: 08 May 2010 07:29 PM PDT This is another one of those videos that is inherently funny, and I defy anyone not to laugh every time they see it.
It may just be a dog growling while its owner opens and closes its mouth to give the impression it is beatboxing, but that’s good enough for me. Am I scared of this dog? No. But do I find it funny? Yes. Not a guard dog then, more a laugh dog. I could watch this over and over again. In fact, that’s exactly what I have done. This dog should surely be on a talent show somewhere, as I’m sure both Simon Cowell and the Queen (possibly the same person) would love him. For me, a cat lover, to like a dog this much is bizarre. But it just goes to show what a good comedy double-act can do for a person’s mood. |
Great Mother’s Day Gift Ideas Video | Traditional Presents For Moms With A Twist Posted: 08 May 2010 04:20 PM PDT It’s that time of the year in the U.S. again, when mothers everywhere are treated in the way we really should treat them all year round: given a day off, made breakfast in bed, taken out to dinner, and given gifts. But what do you get your mom? There are plenty of traditional gifts that can be bought or made, and most can be presented with a twist designed to increase the pleasure.
Chocolates, flowers, a framed photograph, and luxury toiletries are all traditional gifts that have been given to mothers for generations. But with a bit of inventive they can be presented in a unique way. Whether this takes the form of being wrapped nicely, hidden around the house for a treasure hunt, or personalized in some way, your mom is sure to appreciate the extra effort. Happy Mother’s Day to mothers around the world. |
Funny Better Marriage Blanket Infomercial Video | Anti-Fart Blankets for Wedded Bliss Posted: 08 May 2010 03:46 PM PDT Infomercials are infamous for selling crazy gadgets that we never realized that we needed. From the Snuggie to the ShamWow, these unusual items often become the stuff of pop culture legend. Only time will tell whether the Better Marriage Blanket will be as successful, but it’s got all the makings of a classic. According to the folks behind the Better Marriage Blanket, all couples would be a lot happier if they could just stop flatulence in the bedroom. I was incredulous enough, but when the narrator suggested this would make an ideal wedding gift I almost fell over. Really? Congratulations, have a fart blanket? I don’t think so! There are suggestions the whole thing may be an elaborate internet hoax as the ads haven’t surfaced on TV, but I’ll cross my fingers that it’s legit. After all, if there are no fart blankets how will we make it to our golden anniversaries? |
