Whitney Cummings Comedy Central Roast Video | David Hasselhoff & Others Mocked

Posted: 16 Aug 2010 08:06 AM PDT

The Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff was supposed to be a light-hearted look at The Hoff’s career complete with some gentle mocking by celebrity guests.

And then some woman called Whitney Cummings turned up and everything went a little wrong.

Cummings basically goes to town on Hasselhoff and some of the guests who have shown up to his Comedy Central Roast. She mocks George Hamilton, Pamela Anderson, Hulk Hogan, and others in a horrible fashion.

I know this is meant to be funny but there’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed and Cummings crossed it within about 30 seconds of taking to the stage.

Gentle ribbing is fun, being cruel to the point it stops being watchable isn’t. Maybe I’m becoming prudish in my old age but I didn’t enjoy watching this one iota. It just isn’t funny.

Watch Hilary Duff Wedding Prep Pics Celeb News Video | Singer Actress Marries Mike Comrie

Hilary Duff may be very coy and modest about her wedding to hockey stud Mike Comrie, but the actress and singer got married in style – and wearing Vera Wang by many reports.

Hilary Duff is getting married? Sheesh. I remember watching her as a kid when she played Lizzie McGuire. It’s weird thinking of her now getting married.

Even so, I’m sure Mike Comrie is over the moon with his ‘all woman’ wife at his side after a quiet but classy wedding and reception.

I have to admit that I prefer hearing about these kinds of weddings rather than the totally outrageous ones. It keeps my faith in there still being sane celebrities out there.

Watch ‘Tomorrow When the War Began’ Movie Trailer Video | Film Based on John Marsden Novel

Tomorrow When the War Began is a film based on a novel of the same name by John Marsden. The story follows Ellie and her friends as they have to grow up quickly when their idyllic world turns to one of war and survival.

While classified as YA novels, the Tomorrow series certainly doesn’t dumb anything down as it forces readers (and now viewers) to face serious questions about what they would do in the same circumstances.

I have read one book of the tomorrow series, but I didn’t read the first one. However, I am eager to do so because Circle of Flight is just that good.

I’m crossing my fingers that this will be a great movie.

Human Domino World Record Video | 10,000 Chinese Students Waste Everybody’s Time

Posted: 15 Aug 2010 05:47 PM PDT

The Guinness Book of World Records has a lot to answer for. It’s probably contributed more pointless wastes of time to human endeavor than any other book in history.

The human domino world record is a prime example. What the hell is the point in getting more people than anyone else to sit around in a line just to have them fall over in succession?

The answer is, of course, none. There is no point. It’s the very epitome of pointless. And yet China thought it would be a good idea to train more than 10,000 students to act like dominoes.

Each to their own, I guess. But you can count me out. If someone has a special skill or feature then so be it. But to actually go out of your way to achieve some pointless feat? I’ll pass, thanks.

Cute Kiwi On Treadmill Video | Injured New Zealand Bird Works Out

This video tells the inspirational story of Piwi, an injured kiwi who regained his strength thanks to a can-do attitude and a treadmill.

Wildlife experts found this little guy with a broken leg. They took him to their wildlife center where they decided a treadmill would aid his recovery.

Piwi wasn’t immediately impressed by the contraption, but as he used it more his confidence grew. With every stride he took, Piwi’s muscle tone improved.

Now vets are confident that he’ll make a full recovery and have every chance of surviving in the wild. But what will he do without his daily workout?
