Machete Review Video | New Robert Rodriguez Film A B-Movie That Actually Works

Posted: 03 Sep 2010 09:05 AM PDT

If you like B-movies then you’ll love Machete. Because this is one B-movie that actually works, mainly because it knows what it is and what it isn’t, and plays on those expectations.

Machete is the new movie from Robert Rodriguez. It started out as a fake movie trailer in the middle of Grindhouse that proved so popular that it evolved into a full-blown movie of its own.

Danny Trejo stars in Machete, playing an absolute badass who takes no prisoners. He is supported by a stellar cast including Robert De Niro, Jeff Fahey, Steven Seagal, Don Johnson, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Rodriguez.

Machete won’t be for everyone, but it’s a grisly yet funny, bloody but interesting take on a genre that’s been neglected for some time.

Touching Birthday Message for Cancer Patient’s Wife | Hugh Jackman & New Zealand Prime Minister Star in Video Gift

When we say our wedding vows, we promise to love our partner in sickness and in health. Now 35-year-old Australian cancer victim Kristian Anderson has made good on his promise with this touching birthday video for his wife Rachel.

The video features appearances by New Zealand Prime Minister John Keys, a nod to Rachel’s Kiwi heritage, and Aussie actor Hugh Jackman. But it’s Kristian’s own words, presented on white cards as he generally talks too much, that make the greatest impact.

Kristian was diagnosed with cancer last October. It’s hard to imagine the toll it’s taken on the couple, married for seven years, or their two children. But I’m sure that, at least for a little while, this video made Rachel’s world seem a little brighter.

Cool Roger Federer Trick Shot Video | Tennis Champ Hits A Tweener During 2010 US Open

I’m not a huge fan of tennis. In fact, I consider it the most boring sport of them all, except for maybe golf. Still, when something like this happens, even tennis piques my interest. At least temporarily.

Roger Federer clearly knows how to handle a tennis racquet and how to use it to manipulate balls. So to speak.

However, this neat little trick goes beyond the usual hitting it over the net and getting it to land within the lines (which even I know is the aim of the game).

This between-the-legs shot is amazing, as shown by the look on Brian Dabul’s face after it lands. And it’s even more impressive than the one Federer previously hit at last year’s U.S. Open.
