Google Homepage Video Tutorial | How To Change Your Google Search Background Image Posted: 10 Jun 2010 11:29 AM PDT You may have noticed the Google homepage getting a little busier and more colorful over the past 24 hours, with fancy images replacing the usual plain white background. This is a new feature available to Google users, and the search giant is therefore promoting it. This is a video tutorial showing how you can change the image so that it’s one of your choosing.
Changing your Google Search background image is actually rather simple, as are most innovations Google introduces. But it’s still nice to be told of the best way to go about achieving the desire effect. I think I’ll be sticking to the plain white background on Google. Yes, it’s boring, but I don’t need anything flashy when I’m searching the Web. And if I did want something a little flashier, I’d use Microsoft Bing instead. |
Watch Foxconn iPhone Manufacturer Raises Wages to Stem Employee Suicides News Video Posted: 09 Jun 2010 08:45 PM PDT Manufacturer of popular electronics like iPhones and Wiis, Foxcomm, is increasing worker wages from $5 a day to $10 a day in an effort to stop the suicide rate amongst its workers. Have you ever thought about the cost of your convenience? According to the video description, “Employees spend almost all of their lives in Foxconn’s massive ‘campus’ – which is a charming euphemism for a large, all inclusive, Orwellian complex that includes factories, dormitories, shops and markets. “Employees aren’t allowed to walk down the street in groups of 3 or larger, are forced to carry a corporate ID badge when leaving the complex, are not allowed to speak while working and can work shifts exceeding 24 hours.” I think I’ll skip buying the iPhone, thanks. |
Watch Brooke Hundley Speaks Out On Steve Phillips Affair Video | The Young Turks Call Bull Posted: 09 Jun 2010 07:00 PM PDT Former ESPN production assistant Brook Hundley speaks out about her affair with Steve Phillips to garner support for her side of the story, but The Young Turks think it’s a heap of crap. I try to take everything with a grain of salt and try to understand where people are coming from, but Hundley lost any chance of support when she connected with those kids. I don’t care what her explanation is; she involved those kids in her transgressions and that is never right. Hundley has now filed a lawsuit against ESPN for ‘defaming her by firing her based on false statements’. Right. |
Salma Hayek and Costars Scared by Snake in “Grown Ups” Interview Video Posted: 09 Jun 2010 05:30 PM PDT Salma Hayek and the costars of her new film Grown Ups, Mario Bello and Maya Rudolph, got a fright during a recent interview. All was going well until a snake slithered onto the set. It’s easy to poke fun of these shrieking beauties, but if I was in their very expensive shoes I’m not sure I’d handle myself any better! |
Freaky Talking Cat Video | Forget Miaowing, This Cat Can Communicate… In Chinese Posted: 09 Jun 2010 02:06 PM PDT I’m not Dr. Doolittle, no matter how many dreams I have telling me I am. However, I reckon even I could communicate with this cat. Although he does seem to be speaking Chinese rather than English. Which could be a problem.
Cats are very communicative creatures. Mine will miaow in a multitude of different ways to try and tell me what he wants. It’s usually food, or to go out, because that’s all cats really do. But still. This cat seems to have moved beyond mere miaowing, and is instead trying to express his fear and displeasure at having another cat in the vicinity by talking in human tongue. The clip is from You’ve Been Framed, which is why there’s an awful and entirely unnecessary laughter track over the top of it. But it doesn’t ruin the video completely, and I’m still in awe of this talking feline. |
