R Kelly – Sign Of A Victory Music Video | The Official Anthem Of South Africa World Cup Posted: 11 Jun 2010 09:40 AM PDT The 2010 World Cup has officially kicked off, with the opening ceremony and first match between the hosts South Africa, and Mexico. But before the first pass was made and shot taken, a festival was held with hundreds of artists and singers leading the celebration. And R Kelly sang this song, Sign Of A Victory, which is the official anthem of South Africa 2010.
I personally think Sign Of A Victory is a little dull. The song is only lifted out of the ordinary by the Soweto Spiritual Singers, without whom this would be a bad attempt at an uplifting R&B anthem. I also hate to say it but it’s no I Believe I Can Fly, the song which made R Kelly famous, and which has been played to death at every sporting occasion since it was released. |
100-Year-Old Australian Woman Wins Hearts at World Veterans Table Tennis News Video Posted: 10 Jun 2010 04:57 PM PDT When I’m in my twilight years I imagine I’ll be pottering around my garden, enjoying television game shows, and going to bed early. But after watching Australia’s Dorothy De Low at the World Veterans Table Tennis Championships, I think perhaps I should aim higher. She’s been bundled out of the singles competition, but she’ll compete in the doubles final on Saturday. Her partner for that game is a sprightly 96-year-old! You might assume Dorothy has been training for this her entire life, but she actually only took the game up for fun at the age of 50. And just look at her now! |
Probably The Cutest Video Clip Of All Time | Baby Bear Wants To Nap, Keeps Being Woken Posted: 10 Jun 2010 04:31 PM PDT This video isn’t very long, it’s not funny, clever, witty, exciting, or worth watching time and time again. So why post it? Because this is probably the cutest video clip of all time. I’ve certainly never seen one that’s cuter, and I’ve watched a lot of online video over the past few years.
This baby bear really, really wants to sleep. He’s very tired, barely able to keep his eyes open, and keeps getting close to nodding off resting on his face. Unfortunately, just at the moment he’s about to fall asleep, something keeps waking him up. I blame the squawking bird, which seems to time its noisy outbursts just to keep our little friend awake. I didn’t know animals could have a nasty, vindictive streak in them. But if this bird is any indication, some definitely do. |
