Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Video | The Entire Course Covered In Under Three Minutes Posted: 03 Oct 2010 10:35 AM PDT For those of us not fortunate or not fit enough to have run the Twin Cities Marathon, this video gives a complete overview of the course in under three minutes. And you won’t even get out of breath watching it.
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon was held today in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area of Minnesota. This is the area that the marathon takes its name from. Buzunesh Deba of Ethiopia won the women’s marathon this year in a time of 2:27:24. She beat the second placed runner by a whopping eight minutes, so this anything but a close finish. The men’s marathon was much closer, however, with Sergio Reyes of California finishing in 2:14:02, just seven seconds ahead of second. I could probably run this course but it would take me two days rather than two hours. So I think I’ll stick to the car. |
Gross Remote Controlled Poo with a Charity Message Video | Turd Spreads Word for WaterAid Posted: 02 Oct 2010 03:29 PM PDT With so many charities and non-profit groups competing for your attention, it takes something special to cut through. But few things get noticed like a remote-controlled poo. Without our mod cons, these people must go wherever they can, leading to diarrhea and other diseases which kill 4000 children each day. Those disgusting little turds aren’t quite so funny now, are they? |
Paddy Power Ryder Cup Sign Video | Irish Bookmaker Succeed With Guerrilla Marketing Posted: 02 Oct 2010 01:21 PM PDT Paddy Power is a genius. Or scum. It really depends what side of the fence you stand on in relation to the Irish bookmaker’s guerrilla marketing effort at the 2010 Ryder Cup golf tournament.
The 2010 Ryder Cup is currently taking place at the Celtic manor resort in Newport, Wales. The U.S.A. and Europe are battling to win the Ryder Cup, a golf tournament that usually throws up some surprises. This year’s first surprise happened before the 2010 Ryder Cup had even teed off, with Paddy Power erecting a huge advertising hoarding in a field just outside the boundaries of Celtic Manor. I guess it was meant to resemble the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles. Which is kind of does. Paddy Power lost a court battle and has been told to take the sign down within three days, but as the Ryder Cup only lasts three days that’s hardly a major problem. |
