Google Responds To Google Buzz Controversy Video | Spokesman Talks To Comedy.com

Posted: 18 Feb 2010 10:44 AM PST

You’re no doubt aware by now of Google Buzz, Google’s attempt to muscle in on the space currently inhabited by Facebook and Twitter, If you’re a Gmail user then you will probably have experience Buzz by now, and possibly complained about it as well.

But don’t worry. Google hears you. And here is what the Google spokesman told Comedy.com. At least I’m guessing he’s a real Google spokesman. Why would they lie?

The Google spokesman answers the criticism and controversy by flicking double V’s at us, telling us that Buzz is just the latest example of Google copying an existing service, and finally threatening to kill us all. Which is nice.

Google made a huge mistake with Buzz and are now backtracking, but I have a distinct feeling that this is the kind of feeling at Google about the controversy. When you’re that big and that ubiquitous why would you care?

Chris Elliott On Letterman Video | Ewan McGregor Fight As Daughter Abby Interviewed

Posted: 18 Feb 2010 05:44 AM PST

This should have been Abby Elliott’s moment in the spotlight, and it kind of was. As she was interviewed by Dave Letterman, which is still a big deal, her father Chris Elliott, who used to work on the show, upstaged her. And he had Ewan McGregor’s help in doing so.

Abby Elliott is a regular on Saturday Night Live, clearly taking after her father in terms of sense of humor and comedy timing. And here she was on The Late Show With Dave Letterman.

But in what was clearly a rehearsed skit, as soon as Letterman asks Abby whether her father was ever pushy, we cut to the green room where Chris Elliott is playing just that role. And he doesn’t want Ewan McGregor, whoever he is, spoiling the moment.

All three of them show themselves to be good sports here. But I guess McGregor comes off looking the best as he’s played the stooge really well. And if any of you really don’t know who he is then shame on you.

“That was my pen.” … “Keep it.”

So wrong, and yet not surprising…

Wow. Now I know how to get results from the office next time I hold a fundraiser or charity event. Now if only I could get a ‘pants always on’ policy instated without telling them why…

Maybe this is why you’re not supposed to drink at work.

Beer companies really do the best commercials. Condom commercials often come close, but nothing beats a clever, simple beer commercial. This one made me laugh out loud – both times I watched it.

By the way, kudos to them for acknowledging that there are women who drink beer, too.

Shaun White Olympics 2010 Video | Incredible Double Mctwist 1260

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 08:59 PM PST

Shaun White is making some Olympic history with his signature “double mctwist” 1260. You can see his entire Winter Olympic run where he pulled off the move above.

Apparently this run struck a chord with the judges and he got an incredible 49.5 out of 50.

You’ll have to excuse the poor quality of this clip. Unfortunately, NBC has taken upon themselves to remove any embeddable TV rip of this clip from YouTube and are instead forcing fans to watch it on the official site (which requires installing additional software).

Still an incredible run, I can see why Shaun White has a video game.

Hilarious ‘Tik Tok’ Ke$ha Parody Music Video | If Kesha Had Adult Supervision

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 08:23 PM PST

Ke$ha’s pop song ‘Tik Tok’ is bigger and more annoying than it’s ever been. For those of you that can’t stand America’s latest version of the blonde-slut-diva here’s a parody that will lift your spirits.

I’d even go as far as calling it better than the original.

The Midnight Beast, are a parody group similar to The Lonely Island, but with a smaller budget. While this spoof doesn’t include any Hollywood actors or T-Pain, it’s surprisingly well put together.

Everything from the music production to the camera work is impressive for just a team of 3 teens. The funniest part has to be the line about MSN. Who can’t relate to parents interrupting online socializing?

AppJudgement: Weekly Reviews For iPhone Apps | Only The Best Free Android Apps

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 07:59 PM PST

So you’ve got your new iPhone or Android but you have no idea what apps to get for it? No problem! AppJudgement is a web series that breaks down only the best apps each week and gives you their 2 cents on them.

No longer will you have to sift through 1000’s of useless phone applications only to be constantly let down.

Let’s face it, having a smart phone without any cool apps these days is just anti-social. iPhone applications have become conversation pieces for parties, standing in line, and just regularly killing time.

But unfortunately, most good apps these days are hard to find, costly, and/or take up a lot of memory. So keeping your phone uncluttered with useless apps is a must. AppJudgement reviews the latest apps every week so you won’t have to go through the trouble of installing a junk one again.

Barcode Scanner App

In this webisode, the Barcode Scanner app is reviewed. As you’ll come to find out, most of the apps presented on the show are free. Catch new episodes weekly on Revision3.

Fun Canadian Flashmob Video | Dancing in the Street, Literally!

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 01:31 PM PST

I love a flashmob as much, if not more, than the next guy. So when I saw that the Canadians were enjoying more than winter sports this week, I had to share it with you.

For those who aren't in the know, a flashmob is large group of people who come together for a public celebration. Generally it involves dancing, as we see here with this routine to “Dancing in the Street.”

This isn’t the most well-oiled flashmob I've seen, but the enthusiasm of its participants is infectious.

Something tells me that if we spent less time arguing and sweating the small stuff, and more time dancing, the world would be a much better place.
