F1 2010 Season Preview Video | Formula One Season Begins With Bahrain Grand Prix

Posted: 13 Mar 2010 07:12 AM PST

It’s that time again: Formula One is back, with the 2010 season kicking off this weekend in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia.

This video offers a down and dirty preview to the coming season, with a selection of crashes from recent years, a look at a couple of the new cars, and an F1 car even driving on ice.

The 2010 F1 season looks like being a fantastic one. Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are set to go head to head (which as a Brit is very appealing), and Michael Schumacher is even back to lay the smack down on these young upstarts.

There are also three new teams joining the ranks this season – Lotus Racing, Virgin Racing, and Hispania F1 Racing. Can any of these newcomers challenge the likes of Ferrari and Renault for the top spots?

Cool Obscura Digital Pool Table (Video) | Coming To A Bar Near You

I could definitely see this product catching on at bars. Basically, it’s a projector that you put over your pool table that totally redesigns the look of it.

On top of that it senses where the pool balls are and reacts with colorful imagery when they are hit. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Obscura Digital is a company has finally made projectors cool again. They’ve worked on music projects like MIA’s tour, tech trade shows like CES, and have even covered entire buildings with projections.

Obviously, the typical disco ball setup in most bars is going to be outdated if this technology gets popular. I wonder if this concept could also work for clubs- only the projections follow the people dancing.

Woah, Oh, Oh… My Hearse Is On Fire | Is This The Very Definition Of A Bad Day?

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 02:57 PM PST

Vehicles overheat on motorways all the time. Cars, vans, and lorries are all susceptible. As are hearses, apparently.

This clearly turned out to be a bad day for the undertakers, a bad day for the deceased person, and a bad day for the grieving family. In fact, the only person who can claim this to be a good day was Satan himself.

Even if the deceased had requested to be cremated after death then this would still not be the way he or she would have chosen to go: at the side of the motorway in front of rubbernecking onlookers.

This probably isn’t the first time something bad has happened to a hearse but it’s only now, thanks to the wonders of online video and YouTube in particular that we all get to see the outcome. Isn’t the Internet wonderful?

New Tron Movie Trailer Video | Classic Science Fiction Flick Gets Rebooted

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 01:17 PM PST

The classic 1980s science fiction flick Tron has been given a modern makeover for the 21st century, and here’s our first look.

The sequel sees a new pretty boy Garrett Hedlund playing the son of the original Kevin Flynn, a role which Jeff Bridges happily reprises a few years on. Bruce Boxleitner is also back, making this film a real feast for nostalgia buffs.

I showed this to my husband last night and watched his eyes light up and his whole face beam. This is the kind of stuff that geeky wet dreams are made of.

Whether the film itself is any good or not, it is awfully shiny.
