2010 Nurses Day Video | Unsung, Often Underpaid Heroes Deserve Year-Round Thanks

Posted: 06 May 2010 07:44 AM PDT

Today (May 6) is National Nurses Day and kicks off National Nurses Week which runs until May 12.

Nurses are always undervalued and often underpaid, and they deserve our thanks every single day of the year. Unfortunately, that isn’t practical, but one day or one week of the year is. So let’s take this opportunity to thank all nurses everywhere for the invaluable work they do.

What makes me have the utmost respect for nurses is the knowledge that I couldn’t do the job they do. Not only because of how much knowledge they need to learn and retain, but how they need to keep their composure in the face of death and serious illness.

Most of us will have experienced nursing, either for ourselves or for a loved one. So I don’t think it’s out of place for us all to give our thanks today for the way they cope with the incredibly difficult job they do.

Living Without Food Or Water For 70 Years? (Video) | Indian Miracle Man

Posted: 05 May 2010 09:59 PM PDT

Indian ‘holy man’ Prahlad Jani is baffling modern doctors with his ability to live without food or water. He claims that he’s been doing it for over 70 years, but has only recently been tested for the last 100 hours or so.

Even so, he’s broken the world record and exceeded what once was thought to be humanly impossible.

The last time I skipped dinner, I ended up being twice as hungry in the morning. I can’t see how this man does it- “absorbing nectar through his head?” You can’t be serious!

Maybe meditation is more powerful than most people give it credit for. After all, The scientists who have studied him for the past week have determined that his mind is as healthy as most 25 year-olds.

Watch How to Make Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich Video | Feel Your Arteries Clog

Watch how to make the easy but awesome ‘grilled cheese amongst grilled cheese sandwiches’. Three ingredients only can’t be wrong.

This looks so good, despite that I know what it would do to my system if I ate one. (No gallbladder has made cheese my enemy.)

I cannot believe it has taken anyone (including me) this long to thing of grilling some cheese on the outside of the sandwich as well as the inside.

Looks soooo good… Sorry. I didn’t mean to get any drool on you.

Any grilled cheese sanger fans out there? Let me know if you try this and if you think it’s better than the traditional way.

Watch Lady Gaga Perform ‘Alejandro’ Live on American Idol Video

Henry Connick Jr. introduces Lady Gaga, who performs ‘Alejandro’ as a guest on American Idol.

Who needs clothes to sing a song when you can run around in high boots and lingerie instead?

To be completely honest, I am not that big of a Lady Gaga fan. And seeing her writhing around on the stage wearing barely anything? Well, that hasn’t gotten me any closer to being a fan.

That’s not to say this is a bad song or anything… It’s just not particularly good.

I wonder what she has to say about the sexualization of women and young girls growing up too soon…

Australian Soap “Neighbours” Spoofs “Underbelly” Video | Ramsey Street Gets Edgy

Posted: 05 May 2010 06:04 PM PDT

Ramsey Street is normally a quiet Australian community where, as the song goes “good neighbors become good friends.” But then setting of the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours got a lot darker recently with its Underbelly spoof.

The cast of Neighbours lampooned the hit local crime show in this sketch originally intended to be played during this year's Logie Awards. Organizers deemed the clip too racy though, and it was cut from the ceremony.

It is a bit confronting watching sweet Susan yelling expletives and Toadie brandishing a gun, but that’s just what makes it so appealing! The Logies might have preferred to play it safe, but I’m glad Neighbours didn’t!

Infomercial Accident Compilation Video | As Seen On TV – When Things Keep Going Wrong

Posted: 05 May 2010 01:40 PM PDT

I have a love/hate relationship with infomercials.

When you’re up late at night unable to sleep then they’re manna from Heaven, providing entertainment when there is nothing else on TV. But the rest of the time they’re terrible, and make me change channel immediately.

This video is, therefore, a godsend for me. It puts all the clips of people messing up together in one compilation. Which means I can just watch this without having to sit through the solution to each problem which follows in the full infomercial.

What this compilation does show is how bad the acting is in some of these infomercials, and how stupid you’d have to be to even face some of the problems outlined. I mean how many people really miss the pan when frying an egg or find their whole burger falls out the back of the bun? Seriously.
