King Of Kings ‘Jesus’ Statue Burning (Video) | Strick By Lightning And On Fire Posted: 15 Jun 2010 11:17 AM PDT Last night the King of Kings statue of Jesus in Ohio was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. You can see the video of it burning above and the picture of how it looked before below… Could this be a sign from God? So many people came to watch the statue burning last night that church officials had to buld a makeshift walk-way. Since the statue is 62 feet tall, it could be seen from the roadside of a highway. Originally the 4,000 member Church had financed the statue for $250,000, but it would cost more to rebuld today. The estimated damage report is supposed to come out today. |
Third Graders Plot Revenge Against Teacher (Video) | Knife and Handcuffs Found Posted: 15 Jun 2010 10:57 AM PDT Some say that people are over-reacting to this incident, but when you take a look at this clip you realize just how out-of-hand these 3rd graders could have gotten. Apparently, 10 or so students smuggled in a knife and handcuffs into the school and even had an elaborate plan to harm their teacher. So what caused the revenge-plot? A little timeout. Of course, the handcuffs were just a toy and the plan never went into action, but it easily could have gotten worse had these kids not been caught. Being a resident of the US and Georgia myself, I can say that the history of disrespect between students and teachers here is definitely hurting our education system. |
New Xbox 360 Slim Video | Microsoft’s New Games Console Unboxed & Discussed Posted: 15 Jun 2010 07:31 AM PDT As expected, seeing as it leaked the night before, Microsoft yesterday unveiled the new Xbox 360. This isn’t a next generation console, but merely the existing Xbox hardware given a makeover.
Microsoft chose its E3 2010 keynote to show off the new Xbox 360. And it’s clearly been in production for a while as it goes on sale in the U.S. this week. Anyone present at Microsoft E3 press conference didn’t have to wait at all, with every member of the audience given one of the new slimline consoles just for turning up. The new Xbox 360 is smaller and slimmer than the old one, has a 250GB hard drive, and a lot more outputs. One of the built-in outputs is for the new Kinect motion-sensing hardware, which turns you and your body into the controller. Which I think could make the Wii look positively prehistoric. |
Posted: 15 Jun 2010 02:21 AM PDT Most shampoo ads bombard us with a list of scientific ingredients we don’t really understand and images of beautiful women with impossibly gorgeous hair. So it’s refreshing to see a commercial like this one for Pantene which actually uplifts us. I honestly forgot Pantene was trying to sell me something as I became swept away by this story. It probably won’t make me go out and buy a bottle of shampoo, but it has got me talking about the brand which can only be a good thing. |
Awesome Rock Drummer Video | All The Right Moves At the Wrong Show Posted: 14 Jun 2010 06:28 PM PDT Ordinarily the drummer is the guy quietly banging away in the background while the charismatic lead singer steals the show. Not so here, where the drummer is the clear star. While his band mates are at home wearing gold jackets and performing ZZ Top covers in a community hall, this drummer definitely deserves a packed stadium with roaring fans! He might not suit his current lineup, but I admire his dedication to his craft! Rock on! |
The Best Laptop Ever Video | This Has Everything, Including A Blow-Up Secretary Posted: 14 Jun 2010 03:15 PM PDT I’m writing this post on a laptop. Just a normal, run-of-the-mill Compaq laptop. I like it, truly I do, but it cannot compete with the beauty in this video.
This laptop has it all. Starting out small enough to be carried, it folds out to become a table, with a PC tower, monitor, and printer. Oh, and then comes the fun part, the added extra, the blow-up secretary. I understand that this is fake, created for a film or TV show (though no one seems clear on which one), but I doubt I’m alone in wanting one of these. It’d be truly awesome to be able to unveil it in my local coffee shop. Maybe Apple have missed a trick here. The iPad is awesome, that’s accepted, but what about the ‘iTable’, which is what this fine piece of equipment could be called? I’d buy one. |
