| Dr. Laura Quits Radio Video | Laura Schlessinger Tells Larry King Why She Quit Posted: 18 Aug 2010 09:55 AM PDT Dr. Laura Schlessinger is quitting radio at the end of the year. It’s no coincidence that this is happening just a couple of weeks after she repeatedly used the N word on her radio show in an angry conversation with a black caller.
Is it ever right to use the N word? I personally don’t think so, as it’s a terrible word which obviously has a long history of being used to keep a whole race of people in their place. But Dr. Laura seemed to forget, or choose to ignore this fact, when she used it 11 times in the space of five minutes when she was talking to a female caller on her radio show. Dr. Laura, and the right wing press, have jumped on the controversy as evidence that the U.S. people’s freedom of speech is being eroded. Which is rubbish, obviously. It’s never been acceptable to use racist language, and why would anyone even want to in the first place.      |

Posted: 17 Aug 2010 09:19 PM PDT I hate crime as much as the next person, but when you look at the facts, it’s just not possible that 1 out of every 100 Americans deserve to be in jail. When you stop to examine our current prison system, it’s very clear that problems like racism and slavery still exist in “the land of the free.” No society in history has imprisoned more of it’s citizens than the United States. Perhaps the most shocking statistics stated in this video were the facts that 1 in 9 black males are in jail and that 1 in 4 of all prisoners on a global scale are American. Unbelievable!  |

Posted: 17 Aug 2010 07:44 PM PDT Looks like someone got into the grog a little hard last night and is feeling a bit dazed now… Who would have thought that so much funny could happen in so few seconds? This is a video that I could not watch just once. I’m not sure if it’s the way he is sitting or what, but I laugh every time at this. Even better, the cat seems to be a bit surprised that the fart happened at all. There must have been a bit of a smell. Pew! Stinky cat. I wonder what they fed him, the poor thing. Hehe.  |
| Posted: 17 Aug 2010 04:38 PM PDT With just days to go until Australia heads to the polls, the race to become Prime Minister is really heating up. We recently saw one of the more poignant moments of the campaign when a Vietnam War veteran faced Tony Abbott and asked him about the issue of gay marriage. Of course, the notoriously conservative Mr Abbott will never come to the party on the issue. He uncomfortably bobbed and weaved as he delivered a response which never really answered the question. It’s sad that both major parties say that gay marriage is not part of their policies, but wonderful that members of the public like this loving father insist that it is what the country needs.  |
