Karl Pilkington LittleBigPlanet Level Video | The World Of Karl Pilkington As Seen In LBP Posted: 24 Sep 2010 11:56 AM PDT Karl Pilkington has a new TV show on Sky One which shows him visiting the Seven Wonders of The World. It’s Called An idiot Abroad. And it’s brilliantly funny. To commemorate, here is a video showing ‘The World Of Karl Pilkington’ in video game form. Specifically, it’s a level based on Pilkington and his life that someone created in LittleBigPlanet.
LittleBigPlanet is a PS3 game which allows anyone to create worlds for others to explore. And what better world to create than one based on the bald, round-headed monkey boy that is Karl Plikington? Having created a couple of LBP levels myself I know how hard it is. So I take my hat off to the person responsible for this. Now I just need to find it in the game so I can play through it myself. |
Watch Funny Craig Ferguson Apply for The Big Bang Theory Video Posted: 24 Sep 2010 10:14 AM PDT Craig Ferguson of the Late, Late Show applies to be in Leonard’s and Sheldon’s group of friends on The Big Bang Theory – and fails miserably. Aw, poor Craig. I bet he would have been very good at the Doctor Who questions. I love how they even dressed him up with a striped undershirt just like Sheldon’s (only different colours). I absolutely love The Big Bang Theory, though my husband has repeatedly mentioned how much he would like to punch Sheldon in the face. I think he’s cute. Then again, I also think I wouldn’t be able to stand living with him… |
Mulve Demo Video | Music Discovery Program Could Be A Nightmare For The Music Industry Posted: 24 Sep 2010 06:56 AM PDT We all like getting our music for free, correct? Unfortunately downloading copyrighted content is illegal and although it hasn’t stopped many people from doing so the music industry is trying to clamp down on the practice. Enter Mulve, a new alternative to P2P and torrent sites.
Mulve is a small, unobtrusive program that claims to deliver 10 million tracks free and legally. Mulve appears to source the music direct from servers, including those connected to Russian social networking site Vkontakte. Mulve is down at the time of writing, and I’d urge caution when downloading and using the program in case it’s either a honey trap or infested with malware. If it’s neither of these things then this could be a nightmare for the music industry. |
Katy Perry & Elmo on “Sesame Street” | Pop Star Too Sexy for Children’s Television? Posted: 23 Sep 2010 10:34 PM PDT This is the segment that the world’s children will never see on Sesame Street, the moment when pop star Katy Perry came to town. Oh yes, there is that not too small matter of cleavage. Parents were so outraged by the sight of Katy’s bosom that the Children’s Television Workshop had little choice but to yank the segment. What do you think? Is Katy Perry too sexy for small children? |
Watch Funny ‘Man vs. Second Life’ Mocumentary Video | Online Game Survival Guide Posted: 23 Sep 2010 07:54 PM PDT The best way to deal with a newb is to pretend you don’t even see them… “Join former British marine Adam Steele as he demonstrates how to survive in the harsh regions of Second Life!” – YouTube For those of you not familiar, this video is a spoof on the actual show ‘Man vs. Wild’. I didn’t expect to like this at all because I’m not a second lifer and the video is a bit long, but it made me laugh out loud a few times. The world of online gaming is definitely a scary one. “I want to do the sex!” |
Watch New ABC Psuedo Documentary ‘My Generation’ Trailer Video Posted: 23 Sep 2010 07:34 PM PDT With plenty of contenders to take on in the autumn line up, ABC is coming forward with its new fake documentary about the lives of nine friends, ten years after graduation. “A documentary crew follows … Greenbelt High School's class of 2000 in Austin, TX as they prepare for graduation, and revisits these former classmates ten years later in 2010 – to see where they are now, what they've become, and where they're headed.” – ABC While the concepts of the fake documentary and that of following kids through the years (Seven Up, anyone?) aren’t new, ABC does add another degree to make things interesting: the influence of world events. Hopefully they can do well with it. |
Amazing Dictaphone Recording Video | What A Parcel Hears As It Travels Across Europe Posted: 23 Sep 2010 12:39 PM PDT Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a parcel? Being carried, pushed, lifted, dropped, and transported between two different locations via a number of other locations? Me neither. I mean, why would you?
However, someone clearly had thought about it, and endeavored to find out what it was like being a parcel by packaging a Dictaphone up and sending it from London to Helsinki in Finland. The person responsible was a student at the Royal College of Art, and once the recording had been returned, they animated the trip to coincide with the audio. The animation is really nicely done, and the audio is surprisingly interesting. Whether I wanted it or not, I now know what it’s like to be a parcel: noisy and uncomfortable. |
