John Lennon’s Birthday Tribute Video | Beatles Singer Would Have Been 70-Years-Old Posted: 09 Oct 2010 07:58 AM PDT Had he not been shot dead by Mark Chapman in New York on Dec. 8, 1980, John Lennon would today have been celebrating his 70th birthday. He may be gone but he’ll never be forgotten.
John Lennon packed a lot into his 40 years on Earth. He formed a skiffle band called The Quarrymen at the age of 16, which then morphed into The Beatles after he met Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Working with McCartney, Lennon wrote and sang some of the best songs of all time; songs which resonated at the time, and still resonate to this day. His life came to a premature end when he was shot dead by crazed fan Mark Chapman. But Lennon will live on in the hearts and minds of the millions of people who have come to love his work since he died. Happy 70th Birthday, John. Wherever you may be. |
Watch Funny Animals Save the Planet All-In-One Video | 11 Hilarious Clips Posted: 08 Oct 2010 06:11 PM PDT The Animals Save the Planet, by the Animal Planet channel, is a very funny claymation series showing simple ways we can help the environment. I have to admit it; the farting cow will always be my favourite. Too cute! It’s also the first one of these clips I saw, too. I think the Animal Planet has the right way of it by using these videos to spread their messages. They are cute, funny, enjoyable at any age, short and simple. You don’t get too many winning combinations that come better than that. I can see a lot of kids watching these videos and wanting to make a difference. |
Jeremy Kyle Comeuppance Video | Chav Bully Gets Envelope In The Back Of The Head Posted: 08 Oct 2010 05:00 PM PDT If you’ve never seen The Jeremy Kyle Show then firstly, you’re missing out, and secondly, this video won’t mean anything to you. If you have seen it, though, you’ll love this more than life itself.
Jeremy Kyle is basically Jerry Springer without the wit or empathy. These qualities have been replaced with smugness and a holier than thou attitude that would make Jesus think twice about proclaiming himself the son of God. Everyone who has watched The Jeremy Kyle Show must, at one time, wanted to punch the bully that is Kyle in the face. While that hasn’t yet been achieved, this guy does manage to hit Kyle on the back of the head with a discarded envelope. The funniest part is the aftermath. First Kyle acts as though he’s been shot, and then his security bulldogs come on to protect their master from the mean man sitting in the chair. Ah diddums. |
Lady Gaga and Yoko Ono Duet Video | Weirdo Pop Stars United For “It’s Been Very Hard” Posted: 08 Oct 2010 03:42 PM PDT Recently the reigning Queen of Wacky Pop Lady Gaga joined the original holder of the title, Yoko Ono for a surprisingly normal duet. The less said about Yoko’s wailing and groaning the better, but the lady is some kind of living legend so I’m sure many will love her contributions. Something tells me it’ll be a while before Los Angeles' Orpheum Theater sees a pairing this zany! |
Amazing Tree Man Video | Indonesian Dede Koswara Looks Like Half Man/Half Tree Posted: 08 Oct 2010 01:58 PM PDT The first time you watch this video you won’t believe it’s true, with your mind telling you nature isn’t capable of such a thing. Sadly, it is, and this video is 100 percent genuine.
The Tree Man, as he’s called (although probably not to his face) is an Indonesian guy called Dede Koswara. After cutting himself on a branch as a teenager, branch and root-like warts started growing all over his body. His hands and feet are now a tangle of roots, with beetles crawling all over them. And this mysterious condition, and the damage it does to the body, must be a nightmare to live with. The good news is that due to the publicity Tree Man received a couple of years ago, he has since been treated for his condition. Although there is no cure, he’s doing much better than he was when this video was shot. As the follow-up shows. |
