eBay watch: 1960s Scandinavian teak ceiling lamp

Posted: 09 Dec 2010 12:01 PM PST

Danish

The information is a little vague, but there's no denying that this 1960s Scandinavian teak ceiling lamp is an eye-catching design.

It was made by AB Elysett / Markaryd in Sweden, perhaps designed by Hans Agne Jacobsson, but not for certain. Either way, it's certainly made of teak, with that twisted wood design that would fit perfectly in a midcentury-inspired home.

It's in working order, with a small defect that's pictured on the site. But at the current price of £1, that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Space Invaders Mosaic Coffee Table

This Space Invaders Mosaic Coffee Table is perhaps not the most stylish table I've ever seen, but it has a certain charm for anyone with fond memories of early video games.

The table top measures 55cm square and is made up of glass tiles, arranged in the shape of a space invader, with the square tiles replicating the style of early video graphics.  The coffee table costs just under £100 plus a £20 delivery charge within the UK.

Love Hearts Tealights

Love

We're staying on a vintage sweets tip with focus on these rather wonderful Love Hearts Tealights.

Yes, on the face of it, as package of the classic Love Hearts sweets. But this is bigger than that, with the packet containing six tealights, each one shaped like a sweet and with the same sloppy message of love on the top.

Three designs over the six lights included, with a packet selling for £4.99. And note - you can't eat them.

If you're a fan of the architecture of London's south bank, there's only one set of Christmas cards you should be sending this year: Stefi Orazi's Southbank Centre Christmas cards.

Produced exclusively for their shop, they are very much in the style of her Modernist Christmas cards, stylishly depicting a distinctive mid-century building and then adding snow. Each pack contains four cards - two showing the Royal Festival Hall (which opened in 1951) and two showing the Hayward Gallery (which opened in 1968).

A pack of four cards costs £6.40
