Olive Lucky Clover cushion by Maria Hatling Posted: 20 Jan 2011 07:25 AM PST Maria used to work as an in-house designer for Orla Kiely and you can see the same use of great retro patterns in her work, offering different colourways across her designs - this cushion is also available in pink for example. And it's not just cushions as you can also purchase prints and tea towels featuring her designs, all well worth an investigation. Made from a cotton and linen mix, the cushion costs £55. XYZ Wooden Blocks by Christian Northeast Posted: 20 Jan 2011 07:20 AM PST They're made like the classic wooden blocks that have been played with by generations of children all over the world. The difference here is their iconography. Executed in a retro style, Christian's illustrations offer a slice of pure Americana: from flamingos and eight balls to vinyl and x ray specs. There's no doubt that the set is bound to improve anyone's vocabulary too - how about U for Uvula? For your kids, or just to look pretty, the blocks cost £29. Buy them from Indish |

The floral fabric was a 1970s dress in a previous life, but is being put to good use once more. The letters cost £39.75 per set. Buy them from the Emma Loves Retro website. |
