Mariota Belted Chinos from Missguided

Mariota

With so many skirts and dresses available to retro lovers at the moment, a well observed pair of vintage inspired trousers is always a welcome addition. These Mariota Belted Chinos from Missguided are a versatile pair for a variety of 20th century looks.

The chinos are tailored with a high waist and cigarette pants style tapered leg, creating a silhouette that's well suited to either a sixties beatnik style, or an eighties nautical-inspired aesthetic. The grey shade elevates these into a statement piece, avoiding the basic black of so many others.

Also available in mink and black, they're now at Missguided online for just £18.99.

The finishing touches make all the difference to any retro look, with footwear playing a huge part in the transformation. These Catwalk Queen Heels from ModCloth are oozing with seventies chic, providing a simple but effective pair of vintage inspired shoes.

The rich purple has all the decadence you'd want from a disco-era look, made here from a vegan-friendly suede fabric. The stacked platform and thick heel create a very seventies outline, giving you towering height, while the ankle strap takes care of any potential wobbles while you're up there.

They're now available from ModCloth for $39.99.

eBay watch: 1970s Reliant Scimitar GTE Auto

Posted: 02 Feb 2011 07:57 AM PST

Scimitar

For a car said to be 32 years old, there's not a lot of mileage on this Reliant Scimitar GTE Auto - and it's not a bad looker either.

The car has done just 68,000 miles if the details are accurate and comes with 10 months MOT and a couple of months tax. It's also said to be in 'sound mechanical order' and has a new paint job from two to three years back, plus plenty of extras. In other words, it's good to go for driving away, even if the petrol for that three-litre engine is costly.

The interior doesn't match the exterior sadly, so you'll have to spend some money getting that up to scratch if you're in for the long haul. Aside from that, this is a tasty motor. It's currently at £511.01.

The favourite toys of each decade from in 1940 to 1970 are commemorated in a series of "Toy Box Memories" Jigsaws.

Each thousand-piece jigsaw has a collection of that decades most popular games and toys. As well as offering a nostalgic reminder of childhood, the toys offer an interesting of reflection of their respective period. The Forties have plenty of war-related games, the Fifties are inspired by the television including games based on Dixon of Dock Green and Take Your Pick and the Sixties reflect obsessions with space, fashion and spies. The Seventies jigsaw features the toys I remember best, which includes Paddington Bear, Emu and a Starsky and Hutch game.

All of the jigsaws cost £14.99 and are available from Strawberry Fool.

Mummola print by Sanna Annukka

Mummola2
New designs from Sanna Annukka are always worthy of note and this Mummola print is an especially nice addition to her shop.

The print is more literal than some of her designs showing a busy stove and well-stacked shelves. Apparently influenced by the memory of her grandmother's kitchen, the colourful pots and pans are inspired by her own collection and will appeal to anyone who has amassed a similar collection.

Printed as a five colour silk screen, the edition is limited to 75 so, if you like it, you'd better snap it up now.

The print costs £195.

Lee Broom recycled Decanter lighting range

Decanter

There's a lot of old decanters in junk shops and antique fairs, but thanks to Lee Broom and his Decanter suspension light range, there might be a few less in the future.

These are indeed lead crystal drinks decanters sourced from antique markets and vintage shops. Available in two finishes, the decanters are either left in their natural clear crystal or a unique polished gold has been applied for a more 'contemporary' finish.

Prices for the finished lighting start at £295.
