RETROKIMMER: PHOTOS OF WYANDOTTE'S RIVERFRONT

Rikki St James

Kimmer and Rsj took a little break after this past very hectic work week. We had The Detroit Rocks Project interviews, the Iggy and the Stooges show at the Michigan Theater, John Sinclair's gig at the Park Avenue Bar in Detroit and tons of friends coming in from all over the country to visit. It was a wild time! Kimmer took a little trip down river and here is the story...

We had such a lovely time Saturday on the Riverfront of Wyandotte, Michigan. Finally we had a gorgeous warm sunny April day. The Detroit River never looked better..

Big Duck!

Rsj and I walked all around the Riverfront area. We saw really cool historic homes and lots of happy people having a great time enjoying this beautiful day. As we were walking down a street I saw this huge Swan (big duck!). I loved it and ran over to shoot some pictures of it. It didn't occur to me that this Swan was a big paddleboat! Rsj told me that you sit in it and steer with the neck of the Swan.

How cool is this? Now Kimmer has to go find a pink Flamingo version of this paddleboat! How cool!

Wyandotte has this very nice Veteran's Memorial downtown and facing the water.

I was sitting outside a coffee shop and couldn't help eavesdropping a bit on these chatty gentlemen enjoying their day...

These are really fabulous condos in Wyandotte. Love the brick don't you?

My first boat sighting of 2011. Makes my heart beat a little faster and cheers me so to finally be rid of this past winter... (hopefully)

Just loved this big house! My new camera is just the best! It's a Sony Cybershot 14.1 HD camera. I got it at Mejier's!! Great price on it too. Loved the big front porch and the steps leading up to a great front door... Really wanted to go inside and shoot the interior...

Saw this sign and wondered (?)... Well best I can figure is the towns folk want to keep the riverfront neat with an open view of the water. If they let people fish here all day it might look like a scene from Jaws!

Just beautiful.. love that tower style rooms on the left. Would just love to have my office in that top room... How cool to be working and look out those windows...

Cool Harley 3 wheeler and Wyandotte's Clock Tower. All in all it was just so much fun hanging out with Rikki St James (my tour guide/historian) and seeing this beautiful resort town that is so close to the big city of Detroit and yet seems a million miles away. Thanks Rsj so much! xxooK
