Black Panther's David Liss Unleashes the 'American Panther' |
David Liss is quickly becoming a hot writer in the comic book world thanks to his highly acclaimed run on Black Panther and the runaway hit Mystery Men.
Recently interviewed by his hometown paper the San Antonio Express-News, Liss revealed his Avengers dream team... I have to admit that it's a fine line-up.
Like any merry Marvel comic book writer, San Antonio novelist David Liss has his own list of favorites for the Avengers, Marvel's flagship super-team that hits the big screen next year. So who comprises Liss' dream team for Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Let's just say one of them should come as no surprise whatsoever.
Liss tells Marvel he likes Captain America (the original Steve Rogers), Luke Cage, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel and Black Panther for his Avengers assembly — quite the modern spin with two classic members, albeit no founding ones. And yes, Liss himself says he's probably bias to T'Challa (Liss is writing his adventures in Black Panther: The Man Without Fear after all) but that Black Panther "makes things much more interesting."
Not sure when or if Liss' Avengers will ever see the light of print, but you can still get two times the Liss this week with Black Panther: The Man Without Fear No. 521 and Mystery Men No. 3. Both books drop Wednesday, July 13.
Here's a preview of the latest issue of Black Panther, on the stands today.
