eBay watch: Vintage Citroen DS 21 in need on renovation Posted: 18 Sep 2011 07:16 AM PDT You don't need me to tell you that the weather is getting progressively worse. If you want something to keep you amused over the winter months, how about doing up a classic car? This Citroen DS 21 could be the perfect project. Sadly, the seller doesn't give a lot away, perhaps because it was a 'barn find' with no real history. So we'll give you what we know generally. The DS 21 was introduced in 1965, originally a 2175cc model, getting some electronic fuel injection for 1970. Not sure about the year, you might want to check if there's any evidence of the year from the seller.Pictures are only of the exterior, which don't look too bad considering it's been hanging around for years. The interior is described as 'good' apart from the 'rear armrest'. |
Newgate Footed Retro Alarm Clock Posted: 18 Sep 2011 07:00 AM PDT A clock that seems to straggle two eras, but to good effect - the Newgate Footed Retro Alarm Clock. |
Waddletot Dolls - hipster dolls made of vintage fabrics Posted: 18 Sep 2011 03:58 AM PDT We absolutely love these Waddletot Dolls - the only problem is that we can't decide which one of the many hipster dolls to buy. Sukie is pictured above, just one of the large-size dolls (all around 23 inches tall), made, like her pals, out of re-purposed vintage fabrics to create retro outfits for the dolls, which could have come kicking and screaming out of the 1960s.In fact, check them all out at the website, it's well worth your time. Downside? Perhaps the price, but for good reason. These Emma Waddleton-designed dolls are all made to order and all have their own distinctive stitched-in label, swing ticket and and ID card signed by the designer. They're also wrapped in tissue paper, bound with a bespoke satin label and sent in a presentation box. A collector's piece on short. For all of that and your doll, the price is £145. Atomique print by Double Merrick Posted: 18 Sep 2011 03:58 AM PDT Apparently inspired by 'an era when science was going to solve all of our problems' comes this Atomique print by Double Merrick, the first in a new Good Science series by the artist. The artist also points out that the print is rooted in an age when 'science looked great' - atomic models, lab coats, complex chalkboard diagrams, yo7u know the kind of thing. Each print is A3 in size and made using archival inks on 220gsm watercolour paper, then packaged in a robust cardboard tube so it reaches you in tip-top condition. If you fancy it on your wall of your lab or living room, the print sells for 50 euros plus P&P. Find out more at the Double Merrick website |
1970s Pandul Bubi lamp reissued by Henning Koppel Posted: 18 Sep 2011 01:46 AM PDT A Scandinavian classic from the 1970s has been reissued with a slightly different finish - the Pandul Bubi lamp reissued by Henning Koppel. The original Scandinavian edition of this, dating back to 1972, was made in brass. That's not exactly hip in 2011, so the brass has been replaced with a more friendly handmade chrome finish, matched with an opal impact-resistant high-gloss acrylic shade. The cord is in a choice of black or white.Grab one online, the price is £208. Find out more at the Lollipop Shoppe website |
