Crackdown 2 Review Video | Xbox 360 Exclusive Sequel Play Tested To Death

Posted: 05 Jul 2010 11:21 AM PDT

Crackdown 2 is the direct sequel to the first Crackdown game released in 2007, rather obviously. Crackdown 2 is a sandbox-style Xbox 360 exclusive which has garnered very mixed reviews so far.

This video review is by 3_Killa_Bytes, who like the game enough to give it 8 out of 10 all round.

It looks as though Crackdown 2 is not intended as a single player experience, so if you have no friends or no Internet connection you may want to give it a miss. However, the co-op and multiplayer modes are awesome, saving the title from being a complete waste of time.

I have to say I’m not impressed on the visuals front. The game looks virtually the same as the original, which is three years old now. And I expected more. Personally, I’d try before you buy, just to make sure it’s your kind of game.

Watch Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks 2010 Video | The Star-Spangled Banner

Posted: 04 Jul 2010 08:31 PM PDT

Watch The Star Spangled Banner played and sung as Macy’s 4th of July fireworks 2010 go off in spectacular fashion.

Did you know that fireworks are banned in Australia? What a heap of crap that is. (We do, however, have fireworks shows on New Years Eve.)

I’m probably one of the least patriot US expats out here, but I wouldn’t have minded having a sparkler or something to play with last night.

Anyway, at least I can enjoy the spectacular fireworks displays happening in the US via YouTube and other online video websites.

I will take what I can get. Happy 4th, US readers.

Watch Funny ‘I Kissed A Nerd’ Music Video | Katy Perry Hit Parody

Posted: 04 Jul 2010 08:24 PM PDT

Check out this parody of Katy Perry’s hit song ‘I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It’ called ‘I Kissed a Nerd’.

“It was so long. It felt so right. He’ll access my hub tonight.”

Hahaha. Having married an IT guy, I absolutely love this video and get a special kind of humor out of it. Neeerd.

I would have thought this kind of parody would have come out a bit sooner after the song, but genius takes time, eh?

By the way, on a completely different subject, can someone please tell me what makes something a parody rather than a spoof?

Eight-Year-Old Boy Has Sex Change News Story Video | How Young Is Too Young?

Posted: 04 Jul 2010 05:36 PM PDT

Parents from Omaha have made the controversial decision to grant their eight-year-old child a sex change. Born a boy called Ben, she will now start a new school year as Katie.

It’s admirable to find parents so willing to support their child, no matter how different they are. But we have to ask, how young is too young to make such a critical decision?

The jury’s still out on whether a child of eight truly knows whether they are transgendered or whether they are simply confused about their identity.

Perhaps when it comes to such a contentious issue, the best we can hope is for parents to follow their heart and do what they believe is in their own child’s best interests.

For now at least, Katie seems happy. Hopefully as she begins her new school she’ll find the acceptance that has eluded her through her life.

Funny Cat Jack In A Box Video | Now You See Him, Now You Don’t, Now You See Him Again

Posted: 04 Jul 2010 03:18 PM PDT

I can’t get enough of videos showing cats being their usual playful selves. Mainly because cats are, without a doubt, the cutest, most lovable pets you can possibly choose.

Dog lovers: Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

This video shows a cat who is nothing of not persevering. He’s also very quick, popping out of the box to try and claim that tasty finger for himself almost faster than the eye can see.

What I love though is that the cat never actually makes a proper, spiteful lunge for his owner’s teasing hand. Because this is playtime, and he understands that. Whereas if this were a dog, the owner would have lost a few fingers by now.
