Watch A Step Behind: Americans Lag in Walking News Video | US Sedentary Lives

Posted: 17 Oct 2010 05:28 PM PDT

While I may giggle a bit at the thought of a drive through bottle shop here in Australia, the drive through culture in the US is having serious ramifications on the health of Americans.

While people certainly save time and effort by going to a drive through, they also gain a lot of weight by skipping those small daily activities that help people lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.

A lack of even regular daily activity – walking from your car to pick up your food rather than sitting the whole time – has been linked to a variety of cardiovascular problems.

So, though it might be a bother, why not try walking next time?

Watch World of Warcraft: Cataclysm TV Commercial in HD Video | Coming in December

Where will you be when the cataclysm hits?

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm won’t be hitting the stores until a few weeks before Christmas, but that doesn’t mean that Blizzard is sitting on their gold-plated laurels.

This short clip aired recently during the game between the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys.

Of course, this short clip is just a teaser of what is to come. If you would like to check out a more descriptive video regarding how the world (of warcraft) is going to change, you can watch this video.

It looks like WoW’ers have a lot to look forward to.

Mahogany Rock on “The X Factor Australia” Video | Soul Sisters Sing The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”

I was a little concerned about how soul sisters Mahogany would fare in The X Factor Australia’s rock week, but I needn’t have worried. They were back to their best with this version of The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

It was an inspired choice, with a fabulous stripped back treatment. It really allowed the girls’ strong vocals and harmonies shine through, and didn’t force them to step too far outside their comfort zone.

Some might call it copping out, but I think there’s something to be said for staying true to your artistic vision. They’d never have convinced us with a straight up take on rock; by taking the path less traveled Mahogany made things much more interesting.

Cher Lloyd Sings Hard Knock Life Video | Young ‘X Factor’ Hopeful Impresses Judges

The X Factor continued on with the second week of live performances in another 2-and-a-1/2-hour marathon show. Cher Lloyd certainly stood out this week, whether you like her version of Hard Knock Life or not.

It was certainly a risky song choice, and it must have been hard to switch between the two versions of Hard Knock Life. But I’m not sure she pulled it off, no matter how positive the judges were about her performance.

If I’m honest it isn’t my cup of tea particularly. But then I’m 33-years-old while Lloyd is only 17 and is clearly being produced by Simon Cowell and his cronies to appeal to other 17-year-old. So, good luck to her.

Not that she needs wishing any luck, as I suspect she’ll be in until the end. She’s not the best singer in the competition, but she’s probably the most current act overall, and that means big bucks for Cowell if and when he signs her.
