[New post] Marvel Anime trailers (X-Men and Iron Man)

Marvel Anime trailers (X-Men and Iron Man)

You may recall a ways back that Marvel had announced a number of anime-style projects on their way. Collaborating with MadHouse animation, the projects would include Iron Man, Wolverine, Blade and the X-Men.

The Madhouse Iron Man series was released on G4TV last year for a 12 episode run without much fanfare:

'Iron Man'
Tony Stark is a physicist, an engineer, and the CEO of a major arms manufacturing company. On a battlefield he is injured from his own weapons and taken prisoner by terrorists. In order to keep his own heart beating, he creates the Ironman Suit and escapes. Once free, Stark decides to dedicate his life to pursuing world peace with the Ironman technology, so he moves to Japan to use the resources of "Lab 23," home of the world's first Arc Reactor. Wanting to devote himself fully to this research, Stark decides to retire as Ironman and announce the mass-production of suits to fulfill his duties. But at the announcement ceremony he is attacked by the mysterious organization known as "Zodiac," and his plans have to change.

There is still no word on Wolverine or Blade, but just today an announcement arrived regarding the next anime project based on the merry mutants of Marvel Comics, the X-Men.

While you wait for the X-Men anime series to hit G4 (date TBA, True Believers!), we wanted to bring you your first look at all the mutant mayhem coming your way with the first Japanese-language teaser trailer for the series!

Catch a glimpse at Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Beast and Professor X in their anime glory, and remember to stay tuned to Marvel.com for the latest on "X-Men" and all things Marvel anime!

"X-Men"
The X-Men are reunited following the death of a teammate, and are summoned by Charles Xavier to Japan following the abduction of Hisako Ichiki (Armor). There, they confront the U-Men, a lunatic cult that steals and transplants mutant organs to further strengthen their own army, and the battle for justice is on.

If any comic book property was tailor made for anime interpretation it has to be X-Men. Angsty, dramatic and overly designed, the team is made up of outcasts fighting monsters, robots and aliens on a rotating invasion schedule. In comparison, Iron Man is a tougher sell for me. But will the anime series be a faithful adaptation? Will it appeal to fans of the X-Men comic book series or anime in general? We'll have to wait and see.

The new series will premiere in Japan in April, but there is currently no official word on a domestic air date.
