For sale: 1960s midcentury-style four-bedroomed house in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland

Not the most expensive house we've ever featured, but this 1960s-designed four-bedroomed house in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland is still an interesting property for fans of the era.

Officially it's classed a bungalow, but not the kind of thing you might imagine if you hear that word. Plenty of space and irregular ceiling heights, along with floor-to-ceiling windows offering plenty of 60s-style cool, as well as a practical living space at an affordable price.

The house has been considerably restored, so plain walls mix with those original features, with accommodation including a hall, an open-plan living room, kitchen and dining room, four double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a utility room.

Outside, you'll find landscaped gardens, good storage, a garage and additional off-road parking.  It's also commuter distance from Edinburgh, whi h is a bonus. Offers over £295,000 are requested, with an open day this Sunday, 13th November, if you happen to be passing.

eBay watch: Gladlyn Ware midcentury-style planter

Posted: 10 Nov 2011 09:16 AM PST

Planter

Quite like this, not least because the Gladlyn Ware midcentury-style planter has a bit of age to it.

It's a stylish item too, probably from the 1960s (but could be '50s), with screw-fit tapered legs and wood that's been given a coating of natural oil to improve its look. The metal fittings have suffered through the elements over the years, but that just adds a bit more character.

It stands around 50cm tall with the legs and is currently at £8.37.

Wooden Stacking Robots

Stackingrobots
Retro robots are great at anytime of the year, but as Christmas nears it gives us an excuse to buy something like these Wooden Stacking Robots, whether for a child or as an early present to ourselves.

Each box contains nine wooden robots, painted red, yellow, blue, green and one in black. The idea is to stack them up in different figurations, following examples provided or making up your own displays. The idea is based on a classic 1930s toy Bill Ding Balancing Clowns.

A set of robots costs £14 from Scarlet and Jones.
