Modern Warfare 2 Fail Video | What Happens If You Get Too Cocky In Online COD Game

Posted: 13 Feb 2010 08:35 AM PST

I’ve been known to dabble in online gaming from time to time. I’m not exactly brilliant but I enjoy it nonetheless. However, I’m a straight shooter, in both senses, getting on with the job without bragging or being a dick.

Unlike this guy. Who, upon finding a rival player lying in a building preparing to snipe people in Modern Warfare 2, decides to send a message to him before killing him. Big mistake, bozo.

Instead of sending him a message and then shooting him in the head, he gets shot himself as the other guy has got up, turned around, and noticed him standing there in the mean time.

Instead of pwning the guy, he ends up experiencing an epic fail. Which is justice in my book.

Me, I’d have shot the guy in the balls as soon as I spotted him. I may not have had bragging rights afterwards but at least I’d have killed him before he killed me. Which is the aim of the game after all.

Young Boy Kicked Off School Bus Miles From Home (News Video) | 5 Year Old Terrified

Posted: 13 Feb 2010 07:52 AM PST

I may not have always cared for my school bus driver when I was a kid, but I know that she would never ever leave a kid where a kid didn’t belong.

Bringing a child back to the school is policy. Period.

I sincerely hope that they don’t go easy on the bus driver just because the little boy was found safe. What if he hadn’t been? A million things could have happened to him just because one driver either didn’t know or didn’t care about a standard policy.

This sort of negligence just peeves me. It really does. Kids get put into people’s hands with trust, and then stuff like this happens.

KD Lang Hallelujah Video | Leonard Cohen Cover During Olympics Opening Ceremony

Posted: 13 Feb 2010 04:27 AM PST

Last night saw the 2010 Winter Olympics begin with a spectacular (aren’t they always?) opening ceremony. The hosting country of Canada invited its greatest exports to be there and perform.

Among these was K.D. Lang, a singer who has courted controversy throughout her 25-year career but is, at heart, just a fantastic singer. She covered Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.

This video isn’t of the greatest quality but you can hear Lang singing and get a taste of the incredible atmosphere. It was great to watch the opening ceremony on TV so I imagine it was incredible to actually be there in attendance.

Canada did a solid job of opening the 2010 Olympic Games, but the start has been a little overshadowed by the death of one of the Luge athletes.

Film Riot: Web Series Shows Film Secrets | Tips & Tricks For Amateur Movie Makers

Posted: 12 Feb 2010 08:27 PM PST

Film making today is cheaper than it’s every been. Rivision3’s web series ‘Film Riot’ aims to aid the typical amateur film maker with low-budget tips and tricks.

You don’t have to have a Hollywood studio or a million dollars to make a good short film and this series will show you exactly how.

Pro film maker Ryan Connolly shows you everything from how to get a cheap-but-quality camera to putting exploding special effects in a scene. And, best of all, most projects can be done for under $50.

Even if you never plan on picking up a camera (like me), the series is still really entertaining. Not only does it provide a behind-the-scenes look, but each episode also includes a funny random sketch by Ryan himself using his own techniques.

Here’s a typical episode of series. New ones premiere every Thursday.

Rocketboom: Daily News That Isn’t Depressing | Interviews & Quick Current Affair Re-Caps

Posted: 12 Feb 2010 08:14 PM PST

If you’re looking for an alternative to all the celebrity gossip and negative news on TV, look no further than Rocketboom. The site is updated daily with original news videos concerning everything from the latest viral videos to technology and current events.

Oh, and the correspondents are total babes.

Rocketboom came to my attention after discovering the quite popular YouTube vlogger mememolly. She along with other hosts keep up with what they like to call “daily internet culture.” Recent topics include the iPad and interviewing the Winter Olympic athletes.

Another correspondent is Ella Morton, who is stationed in New York City. Everything about the NYC from business trends to restaurants are explored each Wednesday. Keeping up with America’s melting pot has never been more entertaining.

Power Napping Spa In NYC

Here’s a typical episode of Rocketboom where Ella visits a new power-napping business. Paying for 15 minutes of peace and quiet seems crazy for most of us, but then again this is NYC.

David Copperfield Magic Trick Revealed (Video) | How He Switches Bodies

Posted: 12 Feb 2010 07:05 PM PST

I’m not sure David Copperfield wanted this tape to get out, but it’s out for better or worse.

The “body switching” trick has been used numerous times in his acts and now you can see how it’s really done. You might not want to see this because it will take the mystery away.

It never occurred to me how simple this trick was. The reason for wearing black clothing is also explained in this video.

Maybe it’s just me, but now that I’ve seen how this is done it kind of ruins the “magic” in it for me. Hence the whole “keep it a secret” message at the end of the video.

Olympic Luger 90MPH Crash (Video) | Nodar Kumaritashvili Dead At 21

Posted: 12 Feb 2010 03:31 PM PST

How fast is too fast? That’s the question that’s being asked right now concerning the Olympic Luge course. It’s the fastest in the world, and has proven itself to be the most dangerous in the world as well.

Over 15 crashes have occurred on this course- Nodar Kumaritashvili’s being the latest and the most serious. He died on a practice run just hours before the opening ceremonies.

As you can see from the video his speed was so tremendous that he flew through the air and hit a un-padded pole. Within minutes he experienced severe bleeding from his head. As a result of his death, all contestants from the Republic of Georgia have withdrawn.

This marks the 4th death that has occurred during the Winter Olympics since 1993.
