June 6 1944 D-Day Video | Commemorating The 66th Anniversary Of WWII Turning Point

Posted: 06 Jun 2010 10:04 AM PDT

Today is June 6, 2010. Which means it’s 66 years since D-Day, when the Allied forces launched their fightback against the Nazi war machine which, at that point, held most of Europe in its grasp.

I’m a complete pacifist who always wants to see every other possible course of action explored before the first shot is fired in any conflict. Unfortunately, that isn’t always possible.

As is the case with World War II. Adolf Hitler clearly wasn’t going to stop until he controlled the whole of Europe and beyond. And until him and his fellow Nazis had wiped out the Jews and anyone who didn’t fit the Aryan ideal.

D-Day cost many soldiers, on both sides, their lives. But it was the turning point of the conflict, and the war was over 18 months later.

So spend a few minutes today remembering the people who took part in such a momentous battle which changed the world for the better.

Cool and Useless Tricks Video | Skills with Wii, Basketball, and More

What does one do when they can perform a whole bunch of cool tricks with no real world application? Why create a YouTube video of course!

Here we see him play a two-player game of Super Mario Kart alone, escape from handcuffs while riding a bike using just a paperclip, and perform more basketball trick shots than anyone should be able to perfect.

These skills will never land him his dream job, or even a spot on the Harlem Globetrotters, but I'm impressed nonetheless. It might be a bit sexist, but I’ve never seen a man so adept at multitasking!

Lady Gaga Performance Fail Video | Final Video Production Class Effort Is Terrible

Posted: 05 Jun 2010 01:35 PM PDT

When trying to mimic Lady Gaga, I find it’s always best to have some singing and dancing talent beforehand. Oh, and a good fashion sense. And timing. None of which are qualities this girl possesses.

I have to admit, although rather grudgingly, that Lady Gaga is a genius. She came from nowhere and is now pretty much the biggest pop singer around. Even though she’s a complete and utter freak.

This makes Lady Gaga the perfect choice to perform as for a final video production class exam. But not if you can’t sing and dance, surely.

OK, so the performance is terrible, but we should focus on the video production. Hmm, even that isn’t great, with the timing all over the place, and the lighting terrible. Poor girl. She’ll clearly go far in television.
