SONNY VINCENT INTERVIEWED BY JESUS LOVES THE STOOGES Posted: 01 Feb 2011 01:08 PM PST Sonny Vincent Hey Kim. I made an interview with Sonny Vincent, so I wanted to share it with you. He has played with many Detroit legends (Ron Asheton, Scott Asheton, Scott Morgan, Wayne Kramer .... ) so one part of the interview is about that "real cool time". People in this part of the world are not sufficiently familiar with Sonny's great music, so I wanted to do a little promotion for him. All the best, Goran JESUS LOVES THE STOOGES Here is the Sonny Vincent interview Sure Goran... Sonny is the best and Scott Morgan says he was featured on one of Sonny's records. Scott Morgan and Scott Asheton went to Nashville (about ten years ago) for a week to record with Sonny and recorded with him in Michigan too. Scott likes his work a lot. Scott says they stayed at what he jokingly refers to as "the gangland motel". :)

Posted: 01 Feb 2011 09:24 AM PST 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Convertible Here is my gift from my Moms boyfriend Chuck that I sported around town at 17 years old. 13,000 original miles and the engine had been freshly painted. Damn I had no shortage of dates after I got this machine. Drove it in a lot of parades and car shows too circa 1973-74. I had those exact wheels and thin white walls too. I used to feel like I was driving a speed boat in this cool car. Guys at the Dairy Queen went wild when they popped the hood and saw that gorgeous 289. 1988 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 This photo above is almost identical to my 1988 GT mustang... I didn't have the ground fx and I think it looked much better without that plastic stuff on it. See the sides of the spoiler? With mine you could stick your hand under the sides too. Such a cool car but really bad in winter. No trunk space and tiny back seat but the little boys sure came running when I wheeled up in this cherry red car.

Johnny Bee Badanjek sent this site to me as he is on U Detroit too. So I took an hour and checked out every link. This page is going to grow into a huge resource to promote all that is so fabulous about our Detroit music scene. One of my main goals in life is to assist the city of Detroit in showcasing our massive talent bank of stars and upcoming young musicians as well. Brian Pastoria Brian Pastoria wrote me a lovely note and made my day. He invited me down to see his fantastic studios at Harmonie Park. We of course are thrilled to see the facility as I have heard so much about the Pastoria brothers and their work. Maybe Brian will sign a pair stick to me for my collection??? YES! eBay watch: Adidas Carl Gruber Moon Boots Posted: 01 Feb 2011 04:13 AM PST We actually featured the Adidas Carl Gruber range as far back as 2006, which is roughly when this reissue of the Adidas Carl Gruber Moon Boots hit the shelves. Sought after then, they're equally collectable now - and there's a pair on eBay if you are off skiing anytime soon and want to make an impression. The range, in conjunction with the Austrian ski instructor Gruber, was big news in the 70s, with an updated range of old and new designs returning five or so years back. The Moon Boots were pure 70s excess, especially in the rainbow colour option. This pair is a UK size 8, still in the box with tags and selling originally for £129.99. 1950s fabric designs reissued at V&A website Posted: 01 Feb 2011 03:42 AM PST What with the Prey tins featured early today, or the Zara Home Pina design we featured yesterday, it's clear that Fifties fabric designs are still as popular as ever. You can grab another piece of the look with these 1950s fabrics designs that have been reissued by the V&A.  Available exclusively online or through mail order, the printed cottons are adapted from designs made for Horrockses Fashions. We've previously featured some of the V&A's Horrockses-inspired products and these designs share that colourful, floral look. Daisy pictured above is also available in a pink colourway, while there are two further designs which use stripes with the flowers.  If you want to delve a bit further back in time, they are also selling original fabrics inspired by the textiles in the V&A's quilts collection, which we also featured earlier this year.  A metre of the 1950s-style cotton costs £8.50 while prices for the other designs vary.  See them online

Photographik Midcentury-Inspired Art Posted: 01 Feb 2011 03:09 AM PST   Selling her wares under the name Photographik, Florida-based graphic designer Kim Johnson takes her inspiration from mid-century Scandinavian designs, which is always a winner with us. Pictured here is a floral design based in a pattern from a vintage teacup set, whilst another design features illustrated mushrooms inspired by a Finnish bowl. All of her prints are retro in style and use paper that is produced to the highest environmental standards. Expect to pay between £10 and £16 depending on the size and design. Giant Lava Lamp Posted: 01 Feb 2011 02:24 AM PST   Back in November, we reported on Mathmo' re-launched lava lamps, but it seems that wasn't all – they have also supersized the iconic design. The Giant Lava Lamp stands at around 2 metres tall and 20cms diameter – the picture above gives an idea of its size compared to a regular sized lava lamp. Because of its size, it works with a different formula to its smaller relative, so need to be filled onsite and cannot be moved afterwards. Probably not something many people could accommodate in their homes, but if you run a retro nightclub or bar, it could be just the thing to complete your decor. The Giant Lava Lamp comes with a similarly large price tag - £3,380, but for that Mathmos will design the base and cap to your specification and you get to pick the colour of the liquid and floating globules.
