Apple iPhone 4G Leak Spoof Video | Gizmodo “Finds” Another Apple Product Worth Leaking Posted: 25 Apr 2010 09:31 AM PDT You cannot have failed to hear about the iPhone 4G leak this past week; it’s been all over the Web. But the iPhone 4G isn’t the only Apple product the technology blog Gizmodo has leaked. This video shows the latest prototype “found” by someone and handed to the site. One which is subjected to a rigorous tear-down, with the internal components all studied in detail.
OK, so not really. In actual fact this is a spoof, and the Apple product in question is actually a woman’s handbag, complete with sunglasses, cigarettes, some chewing gum, lip gloss, a purse, a diary, and best of all, a BlackBerry. If you think this is a little unfair on Gizmodo, Gawker Media, or even the person who sold the iPhone 4G to the site, then think how the Apple engineer who lost it, Gray Powell, feels. He could lose his job over the incident, assuming it wasn’t a cleverly staged piece of Apple PR. |
Sony Dash Video | Web Device At CES 2010 Posted: 25 Apr 2010 04:27 AM PDT The Sony Dash is now available to buy, after first being unveiled and shown off at CES 2010 and going on presale soon afterwards. Personally? I can’t really see the point of it.
The Sony Dash is a small tabletop device which connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi. It has a 7-inch touchscreen, and comes with a host of Chumby apps which adds functionality to it. However, it’s not portable, designed to be plugged in and sitting on a desk or sideboard. So I can’t see why anyone would choose this over the iPad or one of the many other tablet devices currently in development. The price may help, as the Sony Dash is just $199, which is a lot cheaper than even the cheapest tablet. But even at $199 I cannot see the point. |
Funny Drunk Guy Vs. Flip-Flops (Video) | Wasted At The 2010 Coachella Music Fest Posted: 24 Apr 2010 09:18 PM PDT Since the 2010 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival ended last week there have been tons of videos of it popping up on YouTube. Most of them, obviously, are performances by bands, however this video of a random drunk guy has been spreading around like wildfire. The time it takes for him to put on his flip flops is hilariously long. It’s almost a battle he has to fight with himself. The funniest part has to be when he completely forgets about putting them on and talks to a random group of girls. |
Amazing Video Footage Of Wild Octopus Stealing Diver’s Camera Posted: 24 Apr 2010 05:22 PM PDT The diver who captured this incredible video footage off the coast of New Zealand got more when he bargained for when the octopus he was filming stole his camera! Stick with it though, because the footage that comes next is some of the best wildlife action I’ve ever seen. I won’t spoil it, but the unexpected turn of events really highlights the personality of this marine creature. |
Hitler Downfall Parody Video | Adolf Finds Out YouTube Is Deleting Hitler Downfall Vids Posted: 24 Apr 2010 12:52 PM PDT At the behest of Constantin Film, YouTube is removing all the Hitler Downfall parody videos, of which there are hundreds, some that have seen millions of page views. Ah well, not to worry, there’s always Funny or Die.
This video shows Adolf Hitler reacting to the news that all the Downfall parody videos are disappearing from YouTube. He’s not happy, especially as it leaves him needing Funny or Die. He’s even tempted to create a fake Gmail account to get back on YouTube. It was only a matter of time before someone made a video like this, self-referentially spoofing the meme that has swept the Web in recent years. Let’s just hope this one gets left well alone, even if it does end up being the closing chapter on the trend. |
