COME ON BABY LIGHT MY FIRE....

Jose Feliciano

My favorite cover of The Doors " Light My Fire" is by Jose Feliciano. He used to play it on the Glenn Campbell Show and Johnny Carson too. It is so much more romantic and soulful. Tonight I found this great video of Jose, Carlos Santana, and Rick Martin playing together and I just had to post it.

And here is the Original...

RETROKIMMER: 4 NEW VIDEOS SCOTT MORGAN AND THE RATIONALS

Posted: 23 May 2011 04:19 PM PDT

Kimmer and Scott Morgan

Went over to hang out with Scott today and we got to talking about these 2 songs that I just recently discovered but Scott's many fans already know. One is "Full of Fire" which I posted last week (see that story).

Today the song I ran across is "Hold on Baby". I have two versions of this song. One is the original Rationals "Hold on Baby" and the second is from the 1990's when the Rationals had a reunion. This is my favorite version.

Took a little Australian survey first... My pal down under Stephanie is a big Motor City Music fan and so I sent both versions for her to decide which to put in the video. Luckily we both agreed that the reunion version is more gritty.

Steph said I like this one best - It's gutsier. :)

Here they are.... Will make some more tonight...

Full of Fire

Then I came home and ran into 2 more Rats songs that I really love. Feelin Lost (with Iggyand Bob Seger) and Leavin Here. So we made 2 more videos just for fun and the fans dig these photos I have from Scott's Archives.

[New post] Stan Lee cameo in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man feature film

Stan Lee cameo in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man feature film

Since the 2000 X-Men film, Marvel Comics mastermind Stan Lee has enjoyed special cameo appearances in the films based on the characters he created with the bullpen of star artists. Some have been memorable, others (like the sad Spider-Man 3 walk-on), not so much. His recent appearance at a comic book convention alongside John Romita Jr. allowed the maven of Marvel the opportunity to answer the question of how these cameos are set up and also provided some clues regarding next year's Amazing Spider-Man feature film.

The 2012 Spider-Man reboot starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy,Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors will introduce filmgoers to the monstrous Lizard, one of the web-spinner's deadliest foes. This will be quite a departure from the previous supervillains who, for all their evil intentions, operated as rational human beings while the Lizard functions on primal rage.

The Amazing Spider-Man is set to debut on May 12, 2011

Rumor has it that a new version of the Green Goblin will also be introduced. Here's hoping that some consideration is given to Alex Ross' design that was dropped from the Sam Raimi film.

[New post] X-Men First Class - New posters and trailers

X-Men First Class - New posters and trailers

Here are some new images including international posters for X-Men: First Class via i09:

In case this film gets lost in the shuffle of other superhero flicks such as Thor, Captain America, Thor and Green Lantern, X-Men: First Class is a period film that explores the formation of the School for Gifted youngsters in the early 1960's. Starting with the initial meeting of Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, the movie could be the start of a new X-Men franchise set before the 2000 movie by director Bryan Singer (taking up the producer reigns on this one).

Michael Fassbender stars as Magneto, Rose Byrne plays Dr. Moira MacTaggert, January Jones plays The White Queen Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng plays Azazel. Nicholas Hoult plays Beast, Lucas Till plays Havok, Zoe Kravitz plays Angel Salvadore, Jennifer Lawrence plays Mystique, James McAvoy stars as Professor Charles Xavier. Other mutants include Darwin (Edi Gathegi), Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) and (Tony Rich ) Mimic.

Kevin Bacon stars as Sebastian Shaw, the leader of the Hellfire Club, a secret organization set to take over the world.

The Matthew Vaughn directed film has met with some controversy as it was apparently rushed into production with several re-shoots hurriedly called for by the studio at the last minute. Vaughn (director of cult films Snatch and Neil Gaiman's Stardust) has met the accusations by stating that his intentions are to honor the comic book series and is looking to create the best film adaptation of the popular series.

The trailers to date have supported Vaughn's case, and here are three more (again, via i09)
