Educational Pumpkin Carving Video | Learn How To Carve A Pumpkin For Halloween 2010

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 11:26 AM PDT

Halloween is approaching fast, so it’s time to buy a pumpkin and carve it into the shape of, well, whatever you want really. This video is designed to help fledgling pumpkin carvers, giving a rundown of the basic elements involved in carving a pumpkin for Halloween.

When I was a kid people carved their pumpkins exclusively to look like scary faces. But tastes have changed since then, and the techniques have improved to allow more detailed designs.

So now people carve pumpkins to look like all sorts, with some contests for Halloween 2010 even being built around Lady Gaga’s image. Which is just bizarre in my opinion.

This video doesn’t deal with Lady Gaga and the like, instead giving an easy-to-follow guide account of how to design a template and carve a pumpkin around that. So there’s now no excuse for not taking part.

Kanye West On SNL Performance (Video) | New Song Is For ‘Assholes & Douchebags’

Posted: 03 Oct 2010 09:23 PM PDT

Though his attitude is often inexcusably arrogant, I’ve always been a fan of Kanye West’s music.

In his new song “Runaway” (which he performed on Saturday Night Live) he seems to embrace this contradiction. Damn you Kanye!

“Runaway” just recently hit iTunes after an earlier version of the song leaked last month. As a matter of fact, the net is flooded with leaked Kanye tracks right now- most of which won’t be on his new album.

As for this song, I can’t deny that it’s catchy and different from his previous material. The man really knows how to re-invent himself on each album. I just wish he was rapping instead of Pusha-T.

Watch US Government Medical Experiments Conducted On Unknowing Patients News Video

US officials have sent out a public apology after revelations that the US government performed medical experiments on patients without their consent.

While some may ask why it matters forty years later, this issue matters because there are people who got experimented on that might (if they are lucky) still be alive.

Not only that, this is just one more reminder of the disgusting lengths that governmental bodies can and will go to in their quest to get the information they want.

I mean, come on! Infecting people and then willfully encouraging them to go have sex (infect) other people as well? Disgusting.

Amazing World’s Smallest Stop-Motion Animation Video | “Dot” Cartoon Filmed with Microscope and Mobile Phone

Posted: 03 Oct 2010 06:44 PM PDT

Anyone who says that bigger is better clearly hasn’t seen this video. Dot claims to be the world’s smallest stop-motion animation, and I’m not about to disagree.

Of course, when it’s on the internet it looks as big as any other stop-motion animation video. But when it was made, this stop motion animation was teeny-tiny.

Dot herself measures just nine millimeters, and her adventures are captured on CellScope, a mobile phone with a microscope attachment. If you can’t quite picture how that works, make sure you watch to the end of the video.

This is a video that’s more about the visuals than the narrative. It’s easy to lose yourself in this magical world and forget it’s so small.

I hate to think about the amount of effort that’s gone into creating this, but the results speak for themselves.

Watch Classic Film ‘Splendor In The Grass Part One Video | Starring Warren Beatty & Natalie Wood

Posted: 03 Oct 2010 06:28 PM PDT

Splendor in the Grass is a 1961 classic film about love, heartbreak, sexual repression, and more starring Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty.

In 1928 in a small town in Kansas, teenagers Deanie Loomis (Natalie Wood) and Bud Stamper (Warren Beatty) struggle with their desires to be sexual together.

The immense pressure from both sets of parents (including Bud’s father’s advice to find another girl to ’satisfy himself’ with) sets forth a series of events that change Deanie’s and Bud’s lives forever.

This is a sad story of two young people just trying to find their way. What would have happened if they had made their own decisions? What would have happened if sex was better understood by all?

I guess we’ll never know.

Lady Gaga Flight Safety Video | Cebu Pacific Airlines Persuades People To Watch & Listen

How do you flight safety instructions demonstration more interesting for those who have seen it a hundred times? Get the sexy hostesses to dance to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry songs while doing it. Obviously.

Anyone who flies on a regular basis will now the drill: you watch the flight safety instructions demonstration by the hostesses once, and then ignore them for ever more, even if procedures may have changed.

Aware of this, the Philippines’ Cebu Pacific Airlines decided to spice things up a little by adding Lady Gaga’s Just Dance and Katy Perry’s California Gurls to the mix. And it seems to have worked, and not just on that particular flight, thanks to the power of YouTube.

The air crew only did this demonstration with added extras after the flight had taken off, with a normal demonstration having taken place before hand. I know which one I’d choose to watch.
