But that's because they always prove very popular and in many circumstances, they offer up some great period design. This Schneider portable record player certainly doesn't disappoint on that score. Described by the seller as 'one of the coolest and most desirable' portable players, as as well 'a really rare and hard-to-find object', it's a mains-powered player than spins vinyl at 33, 45 and 78rpm, offers better than expected sound and of course, has those great space age stereo speakers. It's also been featured in L'Utopie du Tout Plastique, the benchmark of cool space age design. But what we love most of all is the packaging, the whole thing folding down into a cool orange briefcase, perfect for taking the party with you. Another easy way to introduce her style into your home is with her new wallpaper prints, now available online.  Pictured here is the wonderfully retro-styled Rhododendron wallpaper (you may remember that we featured this on bed linen a little while back). Worth a look is the brown and cream acorn wallpaper which is also being sold on the website alongside other other classic Kiely designs.  The papers cost £60 a roll. See them online

We Make Posters poster by Telegramme Studio Posted: 22 Nov 2010 05:01 AM PST An interesting way to promote your business, this poster by graphic designers and illustrators Telegramme Studio is simply called We Make Posters.  The four colour screen-print uses some of the artwork and typography you'd associate with retro advertising. The piece originally appeared on the back of Creative Review magazine and is described by Telegramme Studio themselves as a shameless advert for their own work. That seems pretty successful then, as the print is desirable in its own right.  The print is limited to 80 copies and costs £35.  Buy it online
