[New post] Joker's face spawns fighting clowns in Batman stage show

Joker's face spawns fighting clowns in Batman stage show

dailypop | July 6, 2011 at 6:53 pm | Tags: batman live stadium | Categories: Batman | URL: http://wp.me/p4kUt-2NW

Comic book fans may have been following news of the Batman Live stage show as it has continued to develop. An incredibly expensive arena-sized adaptation of the comic book pulp hero as a stunt extravaganza complete with massive animated sequences played on a screen above the audience, it is without a doubt the most ambitious project based on Bob Kane's creation. From the rogue's gallery to the actual city of Gotham built into the audience seating, this thing is big.

For the first time in DC Comics history, see Batman the world's most popular DC Super Hero as you've never seen him before, in an all-new, live-action arena adventure, set to take the world by storm. Premiering in the UK in Summer 2011, Batman Live - World Arena Tour is a multi-million pound stage production of unprecedented scale and a must-see for families and Batman fans everywhere.

Totally authentic, bold and awe-inspiring, BATMAN LIVE will be a completely new way to experience the world of Batman. This is one adventure you do not want to miss!

Faithfully adapted from the DC Comics characters and stories, BATMAN LIVE focuses on Robin's quest for justice, which leads him to follow in the footsteps of his hero, the mysterious vigilante known as the Batman - much to the dismay of his protective guardian, millionaire Bruce Wayne - who secretly happens to be Batman.

This dynamic triangle resolves itself in a non-stop thrill-ride across Gotham City that transforms Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson into the legendary crime-fighters Batman and Robin and transports the audience from the Big Top of Haly's Circus to the lower depths of Arkham Asylum - from the glittering peaks of the Penguin's Iceberg Lounge to the subterranean wonders that await inside the Batcave, which features a revolutionary, all-new Batmobile designed exclusively for BATMAN LIVE

A dazzling celebration of storytelling and stagecraft, BATMAN LIVE is at its heart an affecting coming of age story. Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson - both orphaned at an early age - must first learn to overcome their own fears and forge their own family - along with Police Commissioner James Gordon and Bruce's trusted butler, Alfred Pennyworth - if they're going to survive the combined forces of Batman's larger-than-life rogues gallery: The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

In two week's time Batman Live debuts in London, but a brief glimpse has been given for devoted Batfans in which the Caped Crusader is confronted with a Joker head made of henchmen. It is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

Tropical Print Maxi Dress from Miss Selfridge

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 11:31 AM PDT

Tropicalprint

The high street is currently awash with maxi dresses, with most using seventies style as their source of vintage inspiration. Offering something a little different is this Tropical Print Maxi from Miss Selfridge, using a fifties-look exotica print on the thoroughly modern silhouette.

The bold colour palette brings to life a print that takes inspiration from fifties styled florals, reminiscent of the Hawaiin hula girl influence on the pin-up scene, and later in mainstream fashion. The simple, strapless maxi shape is a modern cut, but is still simple enough to let the retro influence take the fore.

It's available from Miss Selfridge now for £40.

eBay watch: Pair of 1970s Milo Baughman lounge chairs

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 07:36 AM PDT

Baugh

Design details are scarce, but the picture should tell you everything about this pair of Milo Baughman lounge chairs, which are available on eBay right now.

No date is attributed, but judging by the look, we would say 1970s, possibly sneaking into the late 60s, but generally that era. It's a very stylish design, with that chromed frame supporting what looks like a very comfortable seat and back, with just minimal arm rests. It's a 'red-orange striped fabric' and the seat cushions are loose.

According to the seller, the chairs are 'in good condition' with 'normal scratches, marks and light scuffs' due to age, but are 'firm and sturdy'. For the two, the price right now is $9.99 (£6.23).

Normal_DSC_0102
The Letteroom specialises in personalised gifts, which isn't that unusual, but their Crayola Letter Art is something a bit different.

Housed in a white wooden box frame, it consists of a capital letter made entirely from Crayola crayons of different lengths and colours. You get to pick the letter obviously, but you can also chose between multi-coloured crayons, shades of pinks or shades of blue.  It would make a good  gift for a child or an adult nostalgic for childhood.

Buy it directly from The Letteroom for £37.50
