RETRO KIMMER: "CHIZZY" MIKE CHISHOLM'S ART!

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 06:54 PM PDT

Artist and Promoter "Chizzy" Mike Chisholm

On my way back from Wyandotte this morning I got a call in my jeep inviting me to come out and shoot Chizzy at an art exhibit in Ann Arbor! How cool! Chiz was going to demonstrate his fabulous, glittery, glow-in-the dark technique live on stage at The Green Room not far from my home!

Chizzy is like a rock star of art! He never stops moving and it is very much like trying to shoot a lead singer. One big blur of action! He was simply fantastic to view! I am not kidding this was like going to a great concert!

The Green Room of Ann Arbor

My daughter shot a lot of this photos tonight... thanks Les!

Chizzy and pal Kimmer

Chizzy uses house paint, acrylics, glow paint, and lots of glitter! (Kimmer loves glitter)

Chizzy really loves the crowd and they love him right back. Simply fascinating to watch him demonstrate his art. Lesley, my artist/photographer daughter came out with me tonight to see Chizzy in action. Lesley shot a lot of these photos and I shot a bunch too.

We helped Chizzy set up his stage for the art demonstration at The Green Room which is a really cool church in Ann Arbor which is definitely not "normal". I heard a man on the microphone tell the congregation that they were not " normal". Well we love all that is NOT NORMAL now don't we?

Chizzy had a large crowd long before the show began. Lots of women gathered around this handsome charming artist...

Here I am video taping a bit of Chizzy's demo... Make sure to watch the video I shot tonight it was so much fun!

What an artist to see in person...

Chizzy loves people so much...

Love this shot of him

Charming Chizzy

Got to meet a facebook friend of mine in person too! John Gnotek! He is a terrific photographer and all around sweet guy. It was a joy to meet and chat equipment with John. He is into web design and he and I have so much in common. I will write more about John's projects soon.

Kimmer never misses a Wishing Well!

[New post] When Nick (Fury) met Steve (Rogers)

When Nick (Fury) met Steve (Rogers)

Just leaked to the masses is this key scene from the Captain America: The First Avenger film.

The scene shot by a fan shows S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury talking with a bewildered Steve Rogers in modern NYC. This fits the mythology of Marvel's Captain America in which Rogers had found himself frozen in the ice, waking up to discover himself in a strange new world.

In addition is an image of Chris Evans as Rogers running madly through the streets of New York.

New X-Men: First Class trailer promises explosive action

James MacAvoy as Professor X

People are talking about Green Lantern, Thor and Captain America... but what about the X-Men? Matthew Vaughn's prequel showing the first meeting of Professor Charles Xavier and Eric Lensherr (later known as Magneto) in the 1960's. First Class looks like a real knock out with a nuclear submarine, the Cuban missile crisis, the Hellfire club and the first assembling of the mutant superhero team in their trademark yellow and blue uniforms combining for a blockbuster comeback of the merry mutants of Marvel.

Michael Fassbender stars as Magneto, Rose Byrne plays Dr. Moira MacTaggert, January Jones plays The White Queen Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng plays Azazel. Nicholas Hoult plays Beast, Lucas Till plays Havok, Zoe Kravitz plays Angel Salvadore, Jennifer Lawrence plays Mystique, James McAvoy stars as Professor Charles Xavier. Other mutants include Darwin (Edi Gathegi), Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) and (Tony Rich ) Mimic.

Kevin Bacon stars as Sebastian Shaw, the leader of the Hellfire Club, a secret organization set to take over the world.

Greetings Trend Hunters!

Wall Street Journal as the Workplace of the Day - Today, Trend Hunter passed 500,000,000 views, and was featured in the Wall Street Journal as the Workplace of the Day... Check out their story: "An Office as Hip as Its Inhabitants". We hit our 500,000,000 view mark a bit earlier than expected, so my nostalgic memories will have to wait till next week, when we are planning more of a celebration

Entrepreneurs - Check out this book! This week, one of my favorite journalists (and a Trend Hunter mentor) is releasing an expanded version of one of my favorite books. The book is Built to Sell, and its stellar author is John Warrillow. If you are an entrepreneur, YOU NEED TO BUY THE BOOK. It's a non-fiction styled novel about a guy who is pondering how to sell his small ad agency. Along the way, one of his mentors teaches him how to make a better company. The lessons are useful even if you don't want to sell your company... and the non-fiction style makes the book a compelling read. He's got a thank you gift going this week where you get a free teleconference, ebook and subscription to Inc if you buy it soon.

Renovated Tradition is this week's PRO Trend, with a score of 5.4. The implications: From classic, cozy and independent coffeehouses to “fast food” cafes like Starbucks, coffee shops have evolved tremendously over the last century. Now, coffee-drinkers are turning to contemporary, one-of-a-kind cafes, with some even offering other services—like knitting and pets—along with coffee. These revitalized cafes appeal to the modern caffeine-lover with a specific interest or someone who wants, in addition to a simple cup of joe, an entire experience. Some examples:

Eclectic Coffee Shop Redesigns

Pop-Up Portable Coffee Shops

Hidden Coffee Shops

Crafty Cafes

Tattoo Tea Parlors

Micro Theater Coffee Houses

Clothes-Cleaning Cafes

Pet Store Cafes

Other new PRO Trends include: 1. Live Gaming, 2. Sentimental Sass, 3. Green Streak, 4. Small Indulgence, 5. Bluntvertising, 6. Coutorture, 7. Social Media Therapy, and more. If you're looking to better understand consumer trends, we now have 1,078 PRO Trends with 43,120 examples in our 2011 Trend Reports
