Skyline Movie Review Video | Ronnie & Dill Discuss New Sci-Fi Action Blockbuster Film

Posted: 10 Nov 2010 08:17 AM PST

This video features a review of new sci-fi blockbuster Skyline, which is being released this Friday (Nov. 12). Well, of sorts, anyway. Just don’t take anything these two say too seriously.

Skyline is a strange beast of a film. It’s a low-budget sci-fi movie that cost less than $20 million to make. But with $19.5 million of that spent on special effects it actually looks quite decent.

That is, at least, visually. The script may be a pile of crap, and the actors aren’t exactly Hollywood A-listers. In fact, the only one I recognize is Donald Faison, Turk from Scrubs.

As for the pair of douchebags doing the review: I know they’re trying to be characters, or possibly caricatures of themselves, or even piss-takes of other movie reviewers. But still, they’re annoying and almost made me smash by computer.

Watch ‘That’s a Woman’ by Celtic Thunder Music Video | From ‘The Show’

Nice guys finish last in the Celtic Thunder performance of ‘That’s a Woman’.

I only saw a clip of this song on television and I had to look it up on YouTube. I’m a big fan of the Celtic groups – after I started listening to Celtic Woman – and Celtic Thunder is no disappointment.

Listening to this song, it’s not surprising that some men (all men? most men?) find women to be strange, often two-sided creatures. I hate to say it, but we are rather complicated.

I highly recommend you get onto YouTube and look these guys up. They have a lot of great videos.

“Kung Fu Panda 2″ Movie Preview | Jack Black’s Fat Panda is Back

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 09:25 PM PST

Dreamworks Animation has unveiled the first, and probably not the last, trailer for the latest installment of Kung Fu Panda.

With the cute name of Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom, this latest animated adventure is sure to have kids and big kids alike flocking to the cinema.

This clip really gives nothing away, except that Jack Black’s Poh is charming and above all, awesome. And frankly that’s enough to get me excited about this latest kiddie flick.

Well that, and the knowledge that Charlie Kaufman has worked on the script. What the man that brought us Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind will bring to this family movie is anyone’s guess!

We'll find out when Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom hits movie screens on May 26, 2011.

‘Digits’ Web Series Shows Pick-Up Tactics | How To Get Girls’ Phone Numbers

Guys, lets face it. Getting a hot girl’s phone number can be one of the trickiest obstacles to overcome on a night out. ‘Digits’ is a show that knows this and even aims to help you “get some digits.”

Even if you don’t find the info useful there’s plenty of eye candy and awkward moments to laugh at.

Each episode of Digits focuses on a new exercise that guys can practice when they’re out. While some are harder than others, most of them are designed to be purposely uncomfortable. One episode, for example, features a guy getting rejected 30 times!

The thing I love about this show is that it captures really awkward situations and some unbelievably creative scenarios on hidden camera. I can’t help but cheer for the guy when he actually gets some digits, however, having been a victim of the “fake phone number” myself, I wonder how many of them are real.

‘Digits’ Preview

This is a compilation of season one where an italian model was sent to try and pick up girls digits. It should be noted that the new season features more guys with different personalities- not everyone is as forward as this guy.

Watch Gobekli Tepe Temple Documentary Video | Kurdistan Sanctuary 8000 Years Older Than Pyramids

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 03:58 PM PST

“Gobekli Tepe is a hilltop sanctuary built on the highest point of an elongated mountain ridge about 15 km northeast of the Kurdish town of Urfa in northern Kurdistan. The site, currently undergoing excavation…, was erected by hunter-gatherers…11,500 years ago…”

While I would have preferred someone a little less biased to check out the place and talk about it, this video is a good introduction to the intrigue of Gobekli Tepe.

While people like this might like to claim this site as their own, the implication of such a structure being built so long ago holds implications that are far more reaching than any one religion.

I just wish they could have made this video without all the distracting wailing in the background.

Watch Mystery Missle Launch Off California News Video | Pentagon & Officials ‘Know Nothing’

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 02:57 PM PST

People are feeling nervous today as the Pentagon and other officials are claiming no knowledge of why a missile was launched in California or who is responsible for launching it.

Seeing as nobody seems to know who launched the missile or why, officials are unable to determine a ’safe area’ for anyone.

Some people are claiming that this missile launch was a cover up for another missile launch in Phoenix, but it remains to be see if any reports about that start happening.

So, accident, cover up or just stretching military muscles to other countries? What do you think is going on?

Amazing Bliss N Eso Stop Motion Animated Music Video | Australian Hip Hop Graffiti Film Clip for “Addicted”

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 02:41 PM PST

Australian hip hop outfit Bliss N Eso have pulled out all the stops with the music video for their new single “Addicted.”

The clip uses stop motion technology to create an ever changing graffiti landscape. It’s mesmerizing to watch it unfold whether you enjoy the music that accompanies it or not.

And mesmerizing it should be considering all the work that went into it. This style of animation is always a painstaking process, which in this case took more than three months to perfect.

This video sees more than 2200 photos coming together seamlessly, and the output of more than 300 cans of paint. With all that effort, it's a good thing the online community’s hooked on this clever clip!

New Kid Cudi & Kanye West Music Video | “Erase Me” Evokes New Hip-Hop Sound

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 12:30 PM PST

I’ve just finished listening to Kid Cudi’s Man on The Moon II album, which, in my opinion has to be one of the greatest “rap” records of the year. I say “rap” because the style of the entire album is completely different from anything out right now.

Oh, and did I mention McLovin is in this video?

Cudi’s Man On The Moon series, for those of you that don’t know, is a concept album series much like Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of The Moon. I can see why they would release this as the first single (after all it’s really catchy and features Kanye West) but there are definitely better songs on the album.

While Rolling Stone gave the album 2 1/2 stars saying that it was “kind of a bore” and “a deep downer,” I’d have to disagree. Cudi is most certainly one of the most progressive artists to come out of the tired hip-hop genre in a long time.
