Armless Piano Player Video | China’s Got Talent Uncovers An Incredibly Talented Man

Posted: 17 Aug 2010 11:44 AM PDT

China’s Got Talent is no different than the American or British versions of the show. It lets real people display their talents, and some people have an amazing tale to tell.

Such as this guy, Liu Wei, who lost both his arms when he was electrocuted at the age of 10. Has he let that hold him back? No, because if he wants to do something he’ll still find a way.

No arms, no problem, because feet are capable of doing the job. I couldn’t play the piano this well with my hands, and I can’t even imagine being able to manipulate my toes in such a way. Which makes Wei’s talent an extraordinary one.

There are talented people everywhere in the world, and they come from every walk of life. It doesn’t matter whether someone is rich or poor, happy or sad, they can have an extraordinary talent that deserves to be shared with the world.

Pakistan Flooding Video | Terrible Flooding Means Thousands Dead and Homeless

Posted: 17 Aug 2010 05:43 AM PDT

As most people will surely be aware by now, Pakistan has experienced terrible flooding over the past couple of weeks, with an estimated 1,600 people killed, thousands more made homeless. Overall, millions have been affected.

Unlike other tragedies, which seem to gain worldwide help and support from governments and ordinary people alike, the Pakistan flooding crisis seems to have been largely ignored.

The Pakistani government is the first culprit, accused of not helping its own people out enough. But governments around the world have also been dragged into the mix.

The U.N. has now put out an appeal for contributions, but they’re slow in coming in.

The World Bank has promised a hefty $900 million to help in the aid effort, and as long as that money gets through to the people who need it most, it should take the edge of the suffering.

Watch Paula Deen Make Deep Fried Cheesecake Wontons with Chocolate Video | Health Fail

Posted: 16 Aug 2010 07:57 PM PDT

Paula Deen shows you how to make another prime example of This is Why You’re Fat by deep frying a cheesecake wonton, covering it in powdered sugar and then squeezing chocolate and strawberry sauce all over it.

Why does cheesecake need to be better? Cheesecake is beautiful and delicious all on its own…

So ‘nice’ to see that in the age of rampant diabetes and obesity, we still have people not only embracing sweet treats but making them go above and beyond ‘not good for you’.

Eh, if you are going to do it, you might as well do it all the way.

Rooney Mara Up for Lisbeth Salander Role in US ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ Video

Posted: 16 Aug 2010 07:22 PM PDT

The stakes are high for the US actress who will take on the role of Lisbeth Salander in the American version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and they narrowed it down to four…

However, it looks like congratulations are just coming out for Rooney Mara, who has won the pivotal role.

Never heard of her? Most people haven’t.

While, by all accounts she looks fair and more like a ‘good girl’, the awesome transforming influence of the makeup department should take care of all that quite easily.

Why Americans can’t just read the subtitles on the original movie, I’m not sure, but it is only giving the author’s estate more money.

Ex-Mormon Speaks About Religion and Family Video | Happy Clip About Life Journey

Posted: 16 Aug 2010 04:38 PM PDT

In this simple video, ex Mormon Robert speaks of his former faith, his family, and how it made him the man that he is today.

At first I wasn’t quite sure where this video was heading. But at the end I was reminded that no matter what labels we place on ourselves, and what we believe, people are just people.

This isn’t a perfect video. I wish Robert had shed some light on what inspired him to leave the church, but perhaps it wouldn’t have had the same positive feel if he did.

At any case, I smell a sequel.

Star Wars Singin’ In The Rain Video | Tokyo Stormtrooper Now With Added Special Effects

Instructions on how to make a good YouTube video: take an already great song in Mint Royale’s Singin’ In The Rain, add in a real-life stormtrooper from Star Wars (well, someone dressed up like a stormtrooper), and then add in some CG special effects.

I love Mint Royale’s version of the classic Singin’ In The Rain. The original video for it is a gem. But everything can be improved by adding some kind of Star Wars element. Which is what they do here.

The original version of this video has a guy in Tokyo dressed as a stormtrooper dancing to the song. But someone, somewhere decided to add some CGI of miniature stormtroopers and even R2-D2 making a cameo.

Absolute genius. I could watch this all day. In fact, I think I will do just that.
