Cher Lloyd X-Factor Performance Video | Messes Up, Still Gets Through Ahead Of Gamu

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 10:08 AM PDT

It seems that Cheryl Tweedy is a hypocrite and complete sell-out. Maybe her recent bout of malaria affected her judgment and ability to put through the most deserving acts in The X-Factor.

Tweedy missed out on most of the audition process for The X-Factor after contracting malaria. She returned for the judges’ houses stage of the competition, where she had to choose 3 acts from 8.

Her decision – to put through Cher LLoyd, Katie Waissel, and Rebecca Ferguson – was shown at the weekend. And people really weren’t too happy. The problem is that Tweedy seemed to go on past performances rather than what the girls managed in front of her.

As this video shows, Cher Lloyd couldn’t sing due to tonsillitis. And Waissel messed up as well. And still they got through ahead of Gamu and Treyc, who are both much better singers.

Cheryl has clearly picked those she thinks will sell records, but the public aren’t happy and so are unlikely to vote for her acts to win. Oops.

NBA 2K11 Review Video | The Best Basketball Game Of All Time – With Michael Jordan

Posted: 05 Oct 2010 09:51 AM PDT

In real life basketball sucks. No, it really does. It’s boring, monotonous, and pointless until the last five minutes.

However, in video game form the sport comes to life, and NBA 2K11 is the best basketball simulation that has ever been made.

This video is a review from IGN, and it gives a basic overview of all the different elements in the game and modes you can play. All the while showing gameplay footage so you can see and appreciate the visuals on display.

NBA 2K11 isn’t perfect. As with pretty much every video game ever releases there are bugs and issues. But these have been kept to a minimum, with all the things that have been done right making up for any minor annoyances.

Watch Eddie Izzard: How to Win over an Audience & ‘The Voice’ Video

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 07:34 PM PDT

On stage, in politics, flying a plane and more – it’s all about having the confidence in the voice (even if you’re not particularly feeling it).

Just as an aside – how awesome is it that Eddie Izzard faced his fear of flying by learning how to fly a bloody plane?! Talk about taking it to the next step to get past something.

Awesome.

Back to the subject at hand, this is one of those talks about a subject that is funny because it’s true. ‘The voice’ can be everything.

I’d hazard a guess that it’s a bit easier for me to do the voice than women, but maybe women have a different one?

Watch October Surprise: Terror Hysteria Recycled In Election Ploy Video | Alex Jones TV

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 07:24 PM PDT

Alex Jones is talking about the admissions of governments talking about using terror as election ploys…

Jones is certainly sounding a bit happier as more people are ’seeing the light’ and seeing that terror and hysteria are very useful tools when it comes to herding people.

The article he is speaking of was written by Jones’ collaborator Paul Joseph Watson and talks partly about the European terror alert that was activated recently.

Hm. Very interesting that Alex Jones is talking about this and terms like ‘terror hysteria’ and ‘October surprise’ are topping Google trends.

It’s a little bit harder to take him seriously when he obviously and so easily influences the search trends…

Newport (Ymerodraeth State of Mind) Music Video | Clever Welsh Jay Z Alicia Keys Parody

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 05:50 PM PDT

There are so many song parodies floating around YouTube, but few are as clever as “Newport (Ymerodraeth State of Mind),” a parody of Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ ode to New York City.

Those Yanks may be enamored with The Big Apple, but these proud Welsh folk have no need for Broadway or the Empire State Building. And why would they? They’ve got bendy roads and Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch instead!

So many jokes that rely on regional humor fail to translate to a wider audience, but even as an Aussie who’s never set foot on Welsh soil this gave me a laugh.

The lyrics are brilliant, and those subtitles come in handy for the foreigners that can’t understand those thick Welsh accents.

M. Night Shyamalan Parody Video | No One Likes ‘The Sixth Sense’ Director Any More

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 04:35 PM PDT

This video is a trailer for a spoof movie uncovering why M. Night Shyamalan’s career has gone so wrong in recent years. And it’s hilarious, mainly because it’s so accurate.

M. Night Shyamalan’s career started off so well. The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were well-regarded, Signs, The Village, and Lady in The Water were OK, and then things went a little wrong.

The Happening was a pile of old tripe. Seriously one of the worst films of all time, mainly because nothing actually happened. And then came The Last Airbender, which very few people liked, especially fans of the animated series it was based on.

This spoof movie trailer from College Humor is keenly observed, and the bald guy is truly freaky, especially at the end when he tells Shyamalan that his career’s “been dead the whole time.” Brilliant.
