Patricia Neal Death News Video | Oscar-Winning Actress Dies Aged 84

Posted: 09 Aug 2010 06:38 AM PDT

Patricia Neal has died at the age of 84. The Oscar-winning actress, who won the Best Actress Academy Award playing alongside Paul Newman in Hud, will be sorely missed by film fans all around the world.

Neal won her Oscar in 1964. Unfortunately, she suffered three strokes around a year after this high-point, leaving her in a coma for weeks. Afterwards she was left unable to walk or talk.

Thankfully she learned to do both again in the succeeding years. And grew old gracefully.

She died on Sunday evening at her home in Edgartown, Massachusetts, and although the cause of death hasn’t yet been revealed, she was thought to have been suffering from lung cancer.

R.I.P. Patricia Neal – 1926 – 2010.

Cool A Capella Cartoon Theme Songs Video | Soul-Tunes Does Duck Tales, Fat Albert, and More

Enjoy a blast from the past with episode one of Soul-Tunes, a series that revisits some our favorite cartoon television themes.

I'm honestly not sure that we’ll ever see an episode two. The production values are terrible, especially that cheesy split screen format.

But strip all that away and you’ve got some very cool reinterpretations of cartoon themes. The beatboxing treatments of the music from Duck Tales, Fraggle Rock, and Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers are awesome.

If you’re of a certain age I’m not sure you'll have any problems guessing the themes, but it is fun to sing along!

Easy Ice Cream Video | Liquid Nitrogen Method

Posted: 08 Aug 2010 02:05 PM PDT

If you’re middle class then you may have bought a bread maker and an ice cream maker over the past few years. Everyone else certainly has.

You may have found it isn’t as easy as it’s supposed to be to make this stuff. As the woman in this video found. But no worries, as there is a solution: the liquid nitrogen method.

Jeff Potter, author of a book called Cooking for Geeks, demonstrates how adding liquid nitrogen to the basic ingredients of ice cream (milk, cream, and flavoring) results in a lush mixture your friends will love.

The only things I’d question are whether liquid nitrogen is safe to consume in this manner, and how affordable it actually is. My guess is just about, and not at all. You have been warned.
