William Shatner Sings ‘Fuck You’ Video | Captain Kirk Covers Cee Lo Green’s Huge Hit

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 10:50 AM PST

Fuck You by Cee Lo Green is a great song. But it’s even better when covered in all its foulmouthed glory by William Shatner. That’s right folks, this is Captain Kirk from Star Trek swearing like a trooper.

Shatner is well known for his attempts at singing. Back when he was a household name people would put up with him singing on their shows in order to secure an interview with the man.

Nowadays he has to promise to deliver a lot more to receive the same chance. Like covering a very sweary pop song, for instance. The great thing is you can still tell it’s Shatner; no one else could sing it like this.

I also have to thank the Web for bringing this joyful clip into my life, as I cannot watch Lopez Tonight thanks to the host’s horrible, gravelly voice which grates on my nerves after after about five seconds.

Conan O Brien’s New Show Skit (Video) | Back On TBS Ahead Of George Lopez

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 10:42 AM PST

Yesterday the first episode of Conan O Brien’s new show Conan debuted on TBS. This opening skit shows viewers an exaggerated version of what he’s been up to in the past year.

I for one am thrilled that he’s finally back. Even George Lopez doesn’t mind going on an hour later. As he stated this week, “It’s the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy.”

Even though TBS is “basic cable” and paying Conan “much less” it really doesn’t show with the quality of this skit. Since almost all of Conan’s staff is back with him the chemistry is obvious. Hell, you don’t see Leno inviting Larry King on his show to dress up as an angel.

Confirmed guests for this week are Tom Hanks, Jack McBrayer, Soundgarden, Jon Hamm, Charlyne Yi, and Michael Cera. You can catch new episodes on Monday’s through Thursdays at 11 PM on TBS.

Wheel Of Fortune One Letter Video | Caitlin Burke Solves Seven-Word Puzzle With Just ‘L’

Posted: 09 Nov 2010 06:45 AM PST

I used to be pretty good at solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles when the show aired on British television. But I was never good enough that I’d have solved a seven-word, 27-letter puzzle with just the letter ‘L’.

This is an astonishing display of either luck, skill, or savantism, or a combination of all three. It’s not as though, “I’ve Got A Good Feeling About This” is even a memorable phrase. In fact, it’s pretty banal.

The looks given to Caitlin Burke, the woman responsible for this feat, by both the contestant standing next to her and the host of the show suggest they suspect cheating. But I don’t think that’s what has happened here.

What I also find interesting about this clip is the way the contestants applaud while the wheel is turning. They look like performing seals who start clapping on command. Is this what American TV has come down to?

Cher Lloyd On The X Factor Video | Sings & Raps Both Parts Of Empire State Of Mind

Some people will love this, some will hate it. I think it’s good, as it’s not every day you see a 17-year-old take on the roles of both Jay-Z and Alicia Keys on Empire State Of Mind and get away with it.

Of all the current crop of contenders on The X Factor, there are three who stand out as love/hate figures. Cher Lloyd of them of them, along with Katie Waissel and Wagner.

She doesn’t quite nail either part of this song but then she is trying to outdo one of the best rappers in the world and one of the best singers in the world. So what chance did she stand?

Still, she has a good go at it and doesn’t ruin the song by any stretch of the imagination. I’m not sure Lloyd will win The X Factor this year but she should make the final at least.
