T-Bone Walker Guitar Video | Jazz and Blues Legend Who Inspired Jimi Hendrix & Others Posted: 01 Mar 2010 08:10 AM PST T-Bone Walker, real name Aaron Thibeaux Walker, was a Texan guitarist and singer who pioneered the electric guitar as an instrument to be cherished and put center stage rather than consigned to merely accompaniment. This video shows T-Bone Walker playing two songs live with Norman Granz’ ‘Jazz at the Philharmonic’ in the UK. The songs are Woman, You Must Be Crazy and Goin’ To Chicago Blues. And they’re both awesome.
T-Bone Walker’s style of playing and showmanship were emulated by Chuck Berry and Jimi Hendrix (amongst others), both of whom went on to influence of guitarists. So what starts with T-Bone Walker can be traced all the way through to guitarists of today. It’s no surprise then that T-Bone Walker is regularly voted near the top of lists of the best guitarists of all time. Influencing people who went on to create even better sounds from the electric guitar is arguably more important than anything else. |
Amy Smart Bought An iPad In The 90’s? (Video) | TV Show Felicity Predicts Future Posted: 28 Feb 2010 08:49 PM PST Here’s a very strange coincidence that appears in the 90’s TV show Felicity. Actress Amy Smart is considering buying a computer and can’t decide what to get; a PC, an iMac, or an iPad? And this is in 1999. Hell, even if the iPad did exist in 1999, I’m willing to bet Ruby would never buy one. Those things are ridiculous for typing on. |
Watch How to Vajazzle Your Vagina Video | Bling for Your Lady Bits Posted: 28 Feb 2010 07:43 PM PST Piercing your clit is so last year for ladies lady-part fashion. Sparkle your womanly areas with crystals to feel even more glamorous. I have seen a lot of time and money wasters, but this one really tops the cake. I like keeping my lady parts nice, but I don’t think I want to spend money on crystals that no one but my husband is going to see. Of course, I’m already married. I might have been interested in this as a bride to be, but still… Crystals on your vagina? Perhaps I’m missing some female gene that makes this oh so exciting for other people. I’ll save my money. |
Kirsten Dunst “Turning Japanese” Music Video | Hollywood Hottie’s Cosplay Style Japanese Film Clip Posted: 28 Feb 2010 05:40 PM PST We’ve seen Kirsten Dunst as a mini vampire, a French queen, and tennis ace. But I never expected to see her “Turning Japanese,” as she does in her brand new music video. The surprising music video was filmed with Hollywood director McG (Terminator Salvation) and artist Takashi Murakami. It recently appeared as part of the Pop Life: Art in a Material World exhibition at London’s Tate Modern Museum. It’s definitely different, but if you love Kirsten, anime, massive cartoon bosoms, and Japan it’s a must see. |
Watch Arianna Huffington Discuss “Move Your Money” Project Video | Support Local Banks Posted: 28 Feb 2010 04:31 PM PST Arianna Huffington discusses the ‘move your money’ project, which is picking up steam as more and more supporters take their money out of the big banks in favor of local banks and credit unions. Well, as Keith Olbermann said himself, it’s a simple idea with far-reaching consequences. I would really like to see this take off in America. To see the big banks get nervous and to see citizens do something about the way they are being treated would be awesome. People are being screwed in big and bad ways, so it’s about time people started fighting back. Hopefully it will make positive things happen. |
