1960s Levi's Type III trucker jacket Posted: 23 Jan 2011 01:04 PM PST I guess you could call this a wardrobe classic, with this Levi's Type III trucker jacket still looking good over 40 years after it's introduction. |
1950s Marianne Westman-designed Picknick chopping boards Posted: 23 Jan 2011 12:43 PM PST Back in July, we featured the reissue of a classic - the Marianne Westman-designed Picknick homeware range. Originally designed in 1956, it's a Scandinavian mid-century classic that still looks shaper today. If you invested in that, you'll no doubt be keen on owning these newly-launched Picknick cutting boards. |
eBay watch: 1970s Blessing tulip-style space age alarm clock Posted: 23 Jan 2011 11:46 AM PST Judging by the brisk bidding so far for this item, the Blessing alarm clock is an item in demand. |
Midcentury-style Sanna Chair by Room & Board Posted: 23 Jan 2011 11:31 AM PST No, this isn't actually a mid-century design, although the midcentury-style Sanna Chair by Room & Board isn't a million miles from the Hans Wegner CH25 armchair. |
Rhodesia Was Super! limited edition serigraph by Derek Yaniger Posted: 23 Jan 2011 11:08 AM PST Apparently, 'Rhodesia is Super' was a travel slogan for holidays to the country (which is obviously now Zimbabwe) back in the 1970s. It's also the inspiration for this Rhodesia Was Super! limited edition serigraph by Derek Yaniger. |
For sale: 1970-designed four-floor house in Antrim Grove, Belsize Park, London Posted: 23 Jan 2011 10:56 AM PST I've got this dream that one day, when I have some more money to my name, I'll go house hunting and find a house with an interior straight out of Terence Conran's The House book ('70s version) - just stuck in time, with all the furnishings of the era intact. I might have found that house online, with this 1970-designed four-floor house in Antrim Grove, Belsize Park, London Those four floors contain four bedrooms, two bathrooms (and a further toilet), a reception, family room, kitchen plus a private garage and garden. But check out the interior shots - I don't think it's someone going for 'retro', I suspect it's all original fittings, right down to the wooden floors and ceilings. But there's one problem. The price. A sought=after location means it's very high, £1,695,000 high. I hope for that they're throwing in all those furnishings. Find out more at the Rightmove website |
