But this GPO dial phone is a replica of the 1970s original and only available at John Lewis. The difference? Well, dimensions and look are the same, but the 'dial' has been made into a push button unit, with this all-important hash and star symbols, so you can get through those annoying automated switchboards.But the look of the phone, which is part of the 1970s Classic Retro series, should still add a vintage touch to your home. | eBay watch: 1960s Ford Anglia in 'immaculate' condition Posted: 06 Nov 2011 10:20 AM PST Not just a vintage car, this 1960s Ford Anglia is described as being in 'immaculate' condition. The seller could well be right. Dating back to 1963, this particular Anglia has had three previous owners and is down as doing 38,600 miles. But the big difference here is the current owner, who has spent five years doing a full restoration job on the car.It has had new rear spring hangers, a good pair of genuine wings fitted, a complete new front, inner flitch plates, floor panels, a full respray…you get the picture. It's also sold with 'good' tyres, a new battery and a stainless steel exhaust, along with 'various assorted spares'. |

This is one of his rare excursions into residential, with this four bedroomed house in Crouch. near Sevenoaks, Kent built for himself. It dates from 1969 and was featured in interiors magazines at the time and for years later – Ideal Home focused on it in 1975 as an exceptional house of its type. Now, all these years later, it's more of a period piece, with unique features from the original build including bespoke doors, shelving and a geodesic domed greenhouse for example. If you want to be just the second owner of this house, £697,500 is the asking price. |

Not edible (obviously), but looking very much like the classic biscuit, the stool is based on a drawing by UK illustrator Simon Lewis, which is screenprinted onto a fabric. | Rosendahl AJ City Hall Table Clock by Arne Jacobsen Posted: 06 Nov 2011 09:47 AM PST Back in 2009 we featured the original City Hall clock reissue, but now there's a smaller version on the market - the Rosendahl AJ City Hall Table Clock by Arne Jacobsen. The original design was created by Jacobsen for the Rodovre City Hall in Denmark back in 1956, with this smaller version sharing the same facial features, but adding in a black ABS case and metal stand, with 2x AA batteries keeping it moving.It's also an affordable design classic at £85. When I saw the list of attending creators one name jumped out at me, but I never dreamed that I would have the opportunity to have more than two words with Howard Chaykin. In fact, I squeezed a few in through his colorful rants on local food, TV and... other subjects. It really made my day.
