For sale: 1960s four-bedroomed architect-designed house in Tarleton, Lancashire

The agent doesn't actually give us an era, but that the place was 'individual architect designed'. I think you can guess which era this four-bedroomed architect-designed house in Tarleton, Lancashire derives from - the 1960s.

It's hardly changed it 40+ years, so if you love the era, this place is certainly for you. It's also on a 'much sought after private road' and in quite a pleasant area, not too far from both Preston and Southport.

The house, which is accessed via a sweeping driveway, has an entrance vestibule, an entrance hall with stairway and cupboards, along with a lounge with exposed brick walls and an open-plan dining room leading to a breakfast kitchen, the latter with some amazing period units, not to mention more of that exposed brick. There's also a utility room on that ground floor.

The rest of the house includes a bathroom, four bedrooms, an open galleried landing and a wash room, along with an integral garage with connection to the utility room, an outhouse/store and a mature plot with gardens front, side and rear, along with a paved patio area.

If you want to go back to the 1960s, the asking price is £399,950.

Digital Harinezumi 2++ super 8-style pocket camera

Posted: 13 Nov 2011 08:45 AM PST

Dig

I know you can get apps for some mobile phones these days replicating vintage Super 8 film shooting, but this Digital Harinezumi 2++ camera does it as a standalone device.

Ok, the technical stuff. It has a 3-megapixel sensor, shooting in 640x480 video onto a micro SD card, as well as having the option to shoot stills. But here's the good bit. The camera laughs in the face of modern-day high definition, instead reproducing the slightly blurry, grainy and vintage-like super 8 film finish. There's also the option to record sound with the built-in microphone, as well as the choice of colour or black and white.

It's available on pre-order now at Firebox, £129.99 is the price.

Leff retro-styled Brick 24 Clock by Erwin Termaat

Leff

The classic flip clock gets a modern makeover, but still ends up looking like a retro piece with this Leff Brick 24 Clock by Erwin Termaat.

It's a premium and indeed heavyweight item, around 36cm across and made of stainless steel, with a 'silent' Japanese Quartz Movement inside to things ticking over (so to speak). But that's only half the table, the minimalist look and vintage-style graphics are also worth noting.

You can hang in on a wall or put it on a desk. The price is the same, no matter what you do with it - £289.

Mondrian coffee table set at Made

Posted: 13 Nov 2011 08:11 AM PST

Mond

No need to tell you why this Mondrian coffee table set at Made is so named.

But we will anyway, The idea is, presumably, to create a suite of tables that mimic the artwork of Piet Mondrian in the 1920s. Not a new idea, we featured a similar concept at Liberty last year, but it's still very well done and a nice ways to add some practical modernism to your home for not a lot of cash.

The set includes a large coffee table and two nesting tables, which can be tucked away when not in use, all of which are made from metal - the surfaces with that coloured powder coating.

The full price is £330, but as ever, you can get them cheap if you order before the Made deadline. £99 is that discounted price if ordered in the next seven days. Also in the range are coloured tray tables, which retail for £35 each.

Retro Rooms: Stian Nybru in Oslo, Norway

Oslo1

We've had a couple of Retro Rooms submissions in of late, so we're kicking things off once more with this midcentury-inspired offering from Stian Nybru in Oslo, Norway.

According to Stian, this is a renovated flat in Olso that dates back to 1895, with large windows and 'great space'. It's a blank canvas for a collection of American and Scandinavian midcentury modern furniture, some bought as original items, others made by Stian, such as the boomerang coffee table and the shadow boxes on the wall.
