The Knack – My Sharona Video | Tribute To Doug Fieger, Who Has Died At Age Of 57

Posted: 15 Feb 2010 06:12 AM PST

This video shows a live performance of My Sharona by The Knack, one of the best songs by one of the best bands of the 1970s.

It’s here now as a tribute to Doug Fieger, the lead singer of The Knack and co-writer of this song. He has died from cancer at the tender age of 57 after a six-year battle against the illness.

The Knack’s My Sharona still lives up to scrutiny today, as it’s a slice of simple and very addictive pop that will live on after we’ve all succumbed to the ravages of time.

Fieger battled and beat lung cancer in 2004, but was then diagnosed with brain tumors after he forgot the lyrics to this very song during a live show. He is survived by his brother and sister.

Watch Shocking BBC Documentary ‘Pedigree Dogs Exposed’ (Full Video) | Breeding to Death

Posted: 14 Feb 2010 11:41 PM PST

Pedigree and selective breeding practices amongst 'champion' breeders has done an enormous amount of damage to many breeds. Will breeders wake up to the problem before it's too late?

I felt truly sick to my stomach watching this video. The practices these so-called dog lovers are using are disgusting. Not only that, they refuse to even talk about the harmful effects.

At the point the older woman was talking about killing off ridgeback puppies – completely healthy, just no ridge – I wanted to punch her in the face.

I don’t like violence at any other time. Truly, I don’t. But that woman and all the people like her? Punches in the face for all.

Funny Japanese Glee Commercial Video | Weird Marketing With Sumo Wrestlers

Posted: 14 Feb 2010 08:47 PM PST

I don’t know what Sumo wrestlers have to do with a high school choir so I can’t really explain the underlying meaning behind this Japanese Glee commercial.

All I know is that it’s weird, random, and oh-so-very hilarious.

Recently Glee took home the 2010 Golden Glober Award for best comedy series. Even outside of the US, the show has proven to be a huge hit. That being said, I don’t know if Don’t Stop Believin’ ever scratched the top 10 in Japan, but it sounds pretty good with some J-pop chicks.

Only in Japan can you get away with such a ridiculous advertising campaign. “So Fun, So Fox” just doesn’t seem as appealing when a giant Sumo wrestler isn’t saying it.

Watch Funny Comedian Dara O’Briain on Videogames vs. Other Media (Video)

Posted: 14 Feb 2010 04:29 PM PST

Comedian and ‘Mock of the Week’ host Dara O’Briain likes to play video games, but these days the casual gamer is a lot less welcome in the more popular titles…

Poor Dara. He just wants to pretend to be The Who.

While it is a bit of comedy, he makes some good points about gaming these days. It’s not often you will find a game with all its content out there anymore.

Sure, that rewards the hardcore gamers, but what about people who want to relax with a game on the weekend or want, like Dara, to play the content they paid for?

Funny Forehead Texter Comedy Ad Video | Demetri Martin Helps the Cell Phone Addicted

Posted: 14 Feb 2010 04:21 PM PST

It’s Valentine’s Day, the day when you’ve got to drag yourself away from technology and spend time with the one you love. Or do you?

Demetri Martin helps out all cell phone addicted Romeos with this clever gadget.

No, he won’t help ease the addiction. He’ll foster it with the forehead texter. The idea is simple. You can continue to send as many SMSs as you like, but by beaming the text onto the forehead of your main squeeze you can look interested at the same time.

This may be only a comedy sketch, but I think Demetri’s on to something here.
