Sea World Trainer Killed By Whale Video | Whale Kills At Shamu Stadium – Natural Urge?

Posted: 25 Feb 2010 09:23 AM PST

A trailer at Sea World in Orange County, Florida, has sadly been killed by one of the killer whales in her charge.

Some people are now calling for the whale to be put down, but I don’t understand that logic because it’s a Killer Whale’s nature to kill, be it seal or human. Surely the best thing would be to now set these wild animals free.

Dawn Brancheau had just finished hosting the ‘Dine With Shamu’ (Shamu is the stage name given to all killer whales at Sea World) show when a whale named Tilikum killed her.

Some eyewitnesses claim that Tilikum grabbed Brancheau’s ponytail and dragged under the water, drowning and killing her. But Sea World is maintaining that Brancheau slipped and fell into the pool before the whale did what comes natural to it.

Either way, I feel sad for Brancheau and her family. But I think this tragedy should serve as the impetus to stop these kinds of shows happening. Set the creatures free, and then trainer will ever share a similar fate.

Dogs Go Nuts for “Law & Order” Video | Pups React to Television Crime Show

The Law & Order franchise is like crack to my mother. The original series, SVU, Criminal Intent, she just can’t get enough. This video shows a bunch of dogs that share her passion for crime programs.

OK, honestly I don’t know enough about dogs to know whether the pooches love or hate the adventures of these American detectives. But I do know that once that iconic theme music starts, the dogs take notice.

It seems these canines aren’t the only ones either. A YouTube search reveals plenty of pups who go loopy for Law & Order. If only they could talk and I could ask them what’s going on!

Funny Kobe Bryant Throws Towel At Lady’s Face Video | What A Douchebag Move

Posted: 24 Feb 2010 08:10 PM PST

He’s been called a ball hog and a douchebag (among other things), and now we’ve got proof on camera. Here you can see Kobe rudely throwing a towel in a fan’s face.

And what’s even more depressing is that the poor lady paid good money to be standing there.

Let me clarify that this move was probably unintentional. After seeing the replay a dozen times it becomes clear that he was reaching for a towel and grabbed two accidentally; then threw the extra away unintentionally hitting the lady’s face.

But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a douchebag ball hog.

Lucky Dog Survives 300 Foot Fall from Cliff News Video

The owners of Poppy, an English Springer Spaniel, always knew she was something special. But now that she’s survived an amazing fall, the rest of the world does too.

Poppy was chasing seagulls when she fell from an East Sussex cliff to the sea some 300 feet below. Remarkably the dog swam to shore and waited patiently until lifeguards could come to her rescue.

They found that Poppy suffered a partially collapsed lung in the fall, but after a visit to the vet she’s ay-okay.

What an incredible story of survival! I’ll bet she resists the urge to chase seagulls in the future!

Leo Laporte’s Tech Guy Show Caller Video | Lady Confused By Lack Of Wireless Internet

Posted: 24 Feb 2010 11:35 AM PST

I’m a bit of a part-time geek on the quiet. I know how to do most things on a computer and how to handle technology. But I do get stuck occasionally, and I then have to turn to my brother who is a full-blown computer geek.

This caller to The Tech Guy show obviously doesn’t have a geeky older brother to call, so she phones Leo Laporte to explain the problem she’s having instead. And it’s quite a problem; a retarded problem.

In essence, this lady has been stealing Wi-Fi access for a year and half, connecting to someone else’s router. Not uncommon, as she says, but also not legal, and not safe at all, as Laporte calmly explains.

I’m not sure whether ignorance is a good enough excuse for this but she obviously seems to think so. And I’m guessing that (and a distinct sense of embarrassment) is why she disappears halfway through the call.

Or maybe she was using someone else’s phone line as well. And they found out about it.
