Serge Gainsbourg signed print by Stan Chow

Serge

Not the first Serge Gainsbourg print we've featured - you may remember Serge - Singer Lover, Provocateur, Smoker or Lord Dunsby's Serge-inspired Melody print. But we think Serge Gainsbourg by Stan Chow has its own unique charm.

This is a more of a caricature than a serious take on the man - and all the better for it. Love that plume of smoke rising up. It's printed on 100% Cotton Matte Archival 315gsm paper, sized is A3+ (13 x 19 inches) and signed by the artist.

Good value though, you can pick one up for £20.

eBay watch: Reissued Vitra Ball Clock by George Nelson

Posted: 18 Dec 2010 11:01 AM PST

Nelson

We featured one of these way back in 2007, but it was a new one, selling for more than the amount being asked right now on eBay for this Vitra Ball Clock by George Nelson.

It's a reissue of a George Nelson classic, originally dating back to 1948 and reissued for the modern era by Vitra. It's a mix of maple and brushed metal, with a high-grade quartz clock, all powered by a single battery and sized around 33cm (diameter).

Some interest already, but with just over three days to go, the price stands at just £1.30. One to keep an eye on for sure.

Ercol's 1950s anniversary Studio Couch range

Posted: 18 Dec 2010 10:47 AM PST

Ercol

To celebrate Ercol's 90th anniversary, some of the company's more interesting designs have been made over and reissued, including the Ercol Studio Couch range.

The range was designed by the company's founder, Lucian Ercolani, and was originally launched in the late 1950s, still keeping that 'look' with the reissue. Both models have the classic bent arms and construction from elm and beech, with the option of going with or without back cushions. There's also the option of different fabrics for the upholstery too.

Two designs in one too, with the ability to use as a sofa or occasional bed. £1,685 is the starting price, varying depending on your choice of finish.

Soulboy northern soul movie gets a UK DVD release

Posted: 18 Dec 2010 10:30 AM PST

Soulboy

Some months back, we featured a new northern soul movie going by the name of Soulboy, which got a limited UK cinema release and a very positive reaction from cinema-goers and critics alike. If you missed it, you'll be pleased to know that Soulboy is about to be released on DVD in the UK.

It's a typical coming of age movie, with 17-year-old Joe McCain finding his way in the world of the 1970s - as well as discovering the world of northern soul via the allnighters at the Wigan Casino.

The DVD is released on January 3rd 2011, with the addition of some making of featurettes as bonus material. Amazon is discounting heavily, with a copy available on pre-order for just £7.99.

Linea midcentury-style Harry chair at House of Fraser

Posted: 18 Dec 2010 10:20 AM PST

Harry

If you look around, the sales are already starting, including the one at House of Fraser. Indeed, that's where we've found this Linea Harry chair.

We love its midcentury-style looks, those curves, the angled legs and that buttoned back specifically, with a wood frame supporting everything and a Venice lime green fabric for the upholstery.

Even at full price, £419 looked decent value, but in the sale, you can secure the Harry chair for just £249.
