Ladderax

It must be hip right now as designers are copying it. Which makes this large Ladderax shelving system worthy of a look.

Ladderax is always worth checking for on eBay as you it offers stylish and functional midcentury design for pretty much any space you need. How? Simple - it's modular, so you can keep adding or removing parts, dependent on your needs.

This is a 'large' selection, with four 'ladders', a three-drawer unit, one unit with glass doors and a glass shelf, three additional shelves and a double shelf. All of which easily slots together. Described as being in 'good vintage' condition, it's currently at £95.

iSupr8 app - more Super 8 movie shooting for your iPhone

Posted: 30 Jan 2011 11:41 AM PST

Isupr8

You might recall the 8mm Vintage Camera app we featured a few weeks back. Well, now there's another operating in similar territory - the iSupr8 app for the iPhone.

It's not a million miles away from the other app in theory- shoot video directly from the app, giving it a film-burn just like Super 8 home movies. Once shot, you can watch your video back, save the videos to your camera roll, email them or add to Facebook. There's also the option to use the iPhone's LED spotlight for shooting in the dark.

A video over the page gives you an idea of how it works. Read the reviews of both apps before you go for one, but if you opt for this, it sells for $1.99 or £1.19.

Images of all-new Volkswagen Beetle appear online

It was the first of the classic cars to get a modern makeover, but with both the Mini and Fiat 500 overtaking it of late, 2011 is perhaps a good time for an all-new Volkswagen Beetle to launch.

According to Car magazine, which has a clutch of spy shots (you can see more over the page), the all-new Beetle will be unveiled around April/May, with the images shown being the latest test model. It might still change a little before it hits the showroom (with regard to the wheel arches in particular, which are still based on the current model), but this is almost the finished item.

Vw2

It's a flatter, more streamlined car, with an interior that's probably more modern and maybe a bit more 'manly' too - no flower holder for example. There's also a bigger boot, more headroom and an engine based on the current Golf.

No news on price or when it will actually hit the showrooms, but as the current model is no longer being built, it's safe to say that the new Volkswagen Beetle should be around before the year is out as a coupe, the cabriolet following some time later.
